Hi, I’m Erin.

For the past 21 years I’ve been lucky enough to make my living as a frugal living expert.

THAT BASICALLY MEANS I SPEND MY DAYS WRITING, DEVELOPING RECIPES, CRAFTING, SEWING, GARDENING AND PLAYING MAD SCIENTIST.

My husband, Aaron, quit his job in 2013 to come work with me, so we could both be home with our kids. Since then, we paid off our house, bought a fixer-upper cabin, and helped both of our daughters figure out how to pay for college. Now, we live in a 17th century farmhouse in Normandy, France!

We’ve had our share of unexpected expenses along the way—like that time our neighbor’s tree fell on our house—but we’ve always managed to find a way forward as a family.

Over the years, our business has grown to include a product line and shop, but our goal is still the same as when we started.

WE WANT TO SHOW PEOPLE THAT LIVING FRUGALLY DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN DOING WITHOUT.

We eat well, dress well and have lots of fun; and we do it for far less than anyone would expect. Just check out our Christmas Under $100 challenge, and you’ll start to see what I mean.

And because we think saving time is just as important as saving money, you’ll only find simple, tried-and-true recipes and projects on this website. We want frugal livng to make your life easier—not harder. So, have a look around, and let us know, if you have any questions.

Local Partnerships

We believe it’s important to support the community where we live and work, so My Frugal Home offers an internship program for local college students, and has partnered with a local non-profit to collect items for recycling. Several of the products that you see in our shop are made from these recycled materials.
