Burlap Easter Baskets

See these burlap Easter Baskets?

Peanut and Oatmeal Containers

They started out like this. Yep. They’re just empty food containers that I wrapped and decorated.

Want to make some? Here’s how you do it:

Attach the Burlap with Paper Clips

Cut out a piece of burlap that’s large enough to cover your container. Then, secure it with paper clips. This is just to hold it in place while you work.

Finished Burlap Easter Basket

Use a glue gun to attach the burlap (remove the paper clips as you go). Then, add a handle. I soaked some sticks in water and used them, but you could use all sorts of things. Get creative and have fun with it.

Closeup of Basket Trim

Add some trim or other decorations, and you’re all done!

More Possibilities

  • Use cookie tins to create large baskets
  • Swap in fabric for the burlap or wrap the containers in pretty paper instead
