Crockpot Candied Pecans

The best part of giving food gifts for Christmas (aside from the savings)> The research. Definitely the research. I mean, you wouldn’t want to give a food gift without trying it first, would you? Nope, that would make you a terrible gift-giver. So, I think you need to take this crockpot candied pecan recipe for a test drive this week. You know, just to make sure it’s gift-worthy. Clearly it’s the responsible thing to do.

Crockpot Candied Pecans

Prep Time:

5 mins

Cook Time:

2 hrs

Ingredients:

1 lb pecans (or other nuts)
1 egg white
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

What You Do:

Whisk Together Egg Whites and Vanilla

Mix the egg white and vanilla together, and set aside.

Mix Sugar and Spices

In another bowl, combine the sugars, salt and cinnamon.

Combine the Nuts and Egg Whites

Add the egg mixture and pecans to the crockpot, and toss to combine. Make sure the pecans are well coated.

Mix Pecans and Sugar Mixture

Now, add the sugar mixture, and toss until evenly coated.

Set your crockpot to low, and cook with the lid off, for two hours. Stir regularly, so the nuts don’t burn.

Allow your candied pecans to cool slightly. Then, enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pecans (or other nuts)
