Is there a parent out there that actually likes Easter grass? Nope, didn’t think so; which is why it’s time to replace that blasted stuff with something better – something that won’t leave us chasing little, plastic ribbons around the house for weeks – something that won’t have to be throw away when the holiday is over.
If you’re over the grass, but you don’t know what to replace it with, try one of these fun Easter grass alternatives.

Pom poms.

Foam stickers (Dollar Tree currently has Easter-themed ones).

Hair elastics.

Dress up jewelry.

Legos.

Balloons. Water balloons would be especially fun. (save this idea for older kids).

Shredded paper. Just run some colored paper or wrapping paper scraps through a paper shredder. Use brown paper bags or newspaper, if you’d like to compost it afterwards.

Real grass. Line your Easter baskets with plastic; fill them with potting soil; and plant grass seed a couple weeks before Easter. This is a fun project to do with your kids, and after Easter, you can use the grass to fill in a bare spot in your yard.
