Part of the fun of going to estate sales is that you never know what you’re going to find. We hit one the other week, and as I entered the house through the garage, I was shocked (and more than a little delighted) to find myself standing in a soap and candlemaking studio. And better still: everything was for sale!
I dug around and found several things that I needed or had use for. Here’s what I brought home:
A bunch of soap molds
A melting pot
A tall tapered candle mold
An assortment of candle wicks
Then, when I went to check out, I learned everything was half off. So, I went back and grabbed …
A five-pound bag of beeswax pellets
Another bag of candle wicks
This basket of soap and candlemaking tools, which included two soap cutters. I completely overlooked this the first time through, so I’m really glad I went back.
Now, that I’m restocked, I’m itching to use my new molds to make a batch of lotion bars and to try out that gorgeous candle mold.
I had bookmarked your website a few months ago and decided to check back in. I love the fact that you were able to pick up so many neat candle/soap making supplies for such a reasonable price. I always wished I could get into that 🙂 Is it fairly easy?
Hey, Ruthie. Glad you stopped in again. Soap and candlemaking is actually a lot easier than you would think. You should definitely give it a try 🙂
