Thank you ladies! I appreciate the good wishes. These cold temps have my arthritis raging, so I am late getting on to reply. Hopefully cake cures arthritis. No evidence yet, but I keep on testing my theory.

Jodi, I have never had an odor in water heated in the microwave. I've never even heard of odors being transferred in a microwave. Has anyone else had this experience?

I would avoid Crock Pot if you plan on cooking for long time durations. They raised the temperature on the hi and low and whereas I used to cook things on low for 10-12 hours while I was at work, they came out burnt with the new temperature settings. They are fine for 8 hours or less. I really like ...
