Re: Daily Check In June 21, 2021

Good morning, Jackie. I am back at work, still sitting by the front door of the main office. I spent an hour and a half working on a spreadsheet of completed maintenance requests on my building. In a bit I will start working on a handout on how to do laundry for the freshmen this fall, having though...

Re: Are Your Meals More Simple or More Complex?

We don't regularly have desserts any more, not since DH was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. We keep a package of fig newtons in the cupboard because they have fiber and some minerals in them, plus no one ever overeats on them. Shelia, there are a lot of nights that peanut butter and raisins on whole...

Re: Are Your Meals More Simple or More Complex?

I cook for basically two people. Once a week DS eats supper with us. When he was young, I did a main dish, couple of veggies, a starch and a fruit at every supper. He and his dad are very picky and I had to think up a range of dishes so that they would be adequately fed. Every meal was well balanced...

Re: Daily Check-In, June 20, 2021

JCKitty, I am going to love retirement. DH does not have the stamina to do much yard work any more, but I have found I can if I do it in little bits and don't wear myself out. I don't have his eye for planting but like to keep things weeded and pruned. DH asked me to make us pancakes and bacon for s...

Bev, Goodwill and the Salvation Army here both accept clean sewing fabric. You could fold it and pin a card to it stating the width and length. I used to buy a lot of small project fabric at the Salvation Army store before Covid did it in. I have cleaned out and organized the fridge as part of Sunda...

Re: Daily Check-In, June 20, 2021

Today is the last day of my staycation, which has been lovely. I have a good bit to do today with the usual Sunday chores to get ready for the next week, and DH needs me to clipper his hair. I wish I had another week, but then I'd wish for another after that, being a die-hard homebody. :-D Speaking ...
