Re: November No Spend Challenge

Your poor friend, Aunt Bridget! I hope he had words with his doctor about that. Nov. 1 was a no-spend day for me, but 2-4 have not been. No silly spending, but we've had to pay for a new windshield ($368), out of pocket prescriptions ($450), and a dryer repair (only $65, thanks to having a home warr...

Re: November Recycle Use It Up Challenge

I just used up the heel of some homemade bread. It was a little dry, but tasted great toasted and with a little butter. It was very good with soup for lunch.

Re: November Recycle Use It Up Challenge

Yesterday for supper I had the last of the chicken soup made from the bony parts of a roasted chicken. CG, that is a gorgeous house. You'll want an army of painters to banish all that pinky-coral, but I love the big porch and how the basement is accessible by walking out the back door. Very pretty kitchen and the surroundings are lovely.

Re: Daily Check in Monday, Nov 2, 2015

After such a lovely and totally frugal day yesterday, today has been one money-sucking minor emergency after another. DH's car windshield developed an enormous crack and has to be replaced. Our insurance deductible is more than the cost of the replacement, so we're paying all of that, and I got up t...
