Re: Couponing

I often can get store coupons for basic foods like peanut butter, celery, fresh pork, apples, but most manufacturer's coupons are not of any use to me. I do use the ones for pet food and cat litter if I can combine them with a sale, but that's about it these days. The last time I went shopping, the ...

Re: Daily Check in Jan 27, 2016

We live on a curvy hill without sidewalks, so although some stores are fairly close by, it's not safe to walk there. Usually you could walk on the edge of someone's yard, but the yards all slope down into the street. The city spent God only knows how much to put in bicycle lanes -- we rarely see a b...

It made two very hearty meals for me. Food waste has been zero this week. I'm recycling two pairs of DH's slack...

Re: How do U prep for an economic downturn??

We went through our own personal economic downturn earlier this year, when I left my job (very stressful and it did not pay well) and then DH left his (way more stressful but it paid well) for one that doesn't pay quite as well but has very little stress. It's in an industry that weathers downturns ...

Re: Jingling January No Spend Challenge

Blonde, I'm also growing my hair out so that I can keep it trimmed myself. My hair has been in some variation of a pixie cut for 40 years, so this should be interesting! :-D I will have to buy a little handful of groceries on Thursday -- milk, cheese, some produce -- but if all continues well, I wil...
