Checked out local laundromats. They forbid washing latex backed rugs in their machines. :(

It's the minerals in your water. You need to find pure citric acid powder. I ordered from ebay and I put a teaspoon or so in with each wash in the dishwasher. If you want to experiment with a brand name, try Lemi Shine, a powdered additive you can buy at Walmart or grocery store. Whatadeal--it's not...

We don't have a carpet cleaning biz anymore-sold that when we left WA. Even if I had a smaller one I'd use it and not be asking this question. I don't have a strong enough back to wash them outside, besides, it's winter [yes AZ still gets cold in Jan, no hot water from the hose]. I am thinking prob ...

Crazy rug question?

Ok, frugalites, I have a goofy question but stick with me. I have several large latex backed area rugs that measure about 3.5 ft X 5 ft. that I use esp in the kitchen to keep my feet warm over tile. I don't want to put them in the new washer, because the transmission in my previous washer was ruined...
