Mermaid seafood salad

Post by casadekitty »

I need to say I don't really measure and say I am sorry for that

large bowl
add 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup mayo or salad dressing
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon Mrs dash type seasoning
pepper ...I use a lot as I like pepper
dill, garlic, parsley you can also use a pack of ranch dressing mix
Mix all and set aside while chopping
1/4 cup onion (can use dried) mix with dressing.
3 ribs finely chopped celery
1 large carrot shredded
1 cup frozen green peas
1 cup broccoli florets chopped
2 pacs of the fake crab meat thawed I chop it before I add it.
8 to 12 ounces of pasta cooked and drained. I use whatever shape I have the most of.
mix all together and chill to let flavors meld together

The dressing is seasonable any way you like.

Sounds good and almost like the one I make. I never thought of using dry ranch dressing as part of the salad. Going to give this a try.

This sounds SO good! The dressing is very similar to the dressing on Zoe's Dill Pickle Salad. I haven't had the seafood like this for ages. I'll have to look and see how it is priced these days. It used to be very reasonable. I have most of the other ingredients at home. Time to maybe branch out my summer salads.

Thanks for posting!!
Hope has a good imagination.

I keep packs of dry ranch dressing mix - use some in my tuna salad.

Thank you for posting the recipe. You sound like you cook the way that I do. I was taught to cook by my grandmother who would say things like, "add milk until it looks right." Which was fine when she was standing by me to tell me when it looked right to her. That's hard to convey in a written recipe. So thank you for tackling the hard task of estimating how much of everything you put into your salad.
