Gayle,
I also have a recipe where you take a combination of grape jelly and cocktail sauce to make the sauce and put the little smokies or small meatballs into. I know New Years has passed, but if you want it I can find it for you for another occasion.

Here you go:
Chili/Grape Jelly Meatballs/Smokies
2 lb. ground chuck
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 lge. grated onion
Salt to taste
1 bottle chili sauce
½ lge. Jar grape jelly
Juice of 1 lemon
2 lb. of lil smokies
Combine chuck, egg, onion and salt; shape into 50-60 small balls. Combine chili sauce, jelly and lemon juice in skillet. Simmer meatballs in mixture until brown. Cut lil smokies in ½ or leave whole. Add to meatball mixture. Serve from chafing dish. May be frozen.
