Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Post by Jackielou »

I found this recipe on Allrecipes

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

1 1/8 cups warm water
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsps salt
1/3 cup honey
1 Tbsp dry milk powder
1 1/2 Tbsps all vegetable shortening
1 1/2 tsps dry yeast (I used bread machine yeast)

Put in your bread machine in order recommended. I put the water and honey in first. I then added the flour, milk powder, yeast and shortening in that order. Last to be added was the salt. I made sure to put the salt down both sides of my horizontal pan so it would not touch the yeast until mixed.

Selected whole wheat setting on my machine and let it mix.

Jackie, does this bread taste as good as it sounds? I wonder if you can bake it in a bread pan in the oven - I don't have a bread machine.

It tastes wonderful. You probably could bake it easily in the oven.
