Bread maker Raisin Bread Recipe Request

Post by Mrscreative »

Does anyone have a really good raisin bread recipe, preferably whole wheat? Dh loves the stuff, especially with lots of raisins and cinnamon. The recipe that came with the bread maker is as heavy as lead and the raisins tend to clump on the bottom. Perhaps putting the shortening in last would help as that seemed to be a game changer for me when I made Jackie’s whole wheat bread recipe. I have soaked the raisins in hot water and coated them with flour but they still seemed to sink to the bottom.

Thanks!

for my raisin bread, not in a bread machine  , I put the raisins in the mixture of sugar, cinnamon and flour then in my Kitchen aid, that way the raisons don't sink to the bottom.

I of course "sift" the raisins out of the cinnamon, sugar and flour first,

1/4 cup of sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons of flour

IC

Happy baking

Thanks for that suggestion Frugal. Do you just add this to your favourite bread recipe?
