Erin's Cute Idea

Post by Jackielou »

Erin has a really cute idea on how to use a portion of a pair of jeans that is troublesome to use. Make a coin purse.

Here is a link to the how to on her blog.

Great idea, though not new. I saw on Etsy bags, wallets and other handmade things made of jeans, drape, etc. People alter old things, creating something new and unusual. It's really cool when the fantasy works as it should.

Yes, I do recycle jeans into purses, skirts, quilts. I even have recycled old dresses, drapes and shirts into useable fabric. I just had never figured out how to use the coin pocket area before. Now I know.

Great. Basically, if the fabrics are in good condition, why not reuse them? Can you show examples of your work? Very interesting to see. Do you find patterns for your products on the Internet or do you design yourself?

I used the fabric of old men's shirts to sew masks.
