Managing a May Low Spend Month

Post by Jackielou »

I am calling this months challenge a low spend month instead of a no spend month. This is because it is gardening time and I will be buying plants, and veggie sets to off set costs this winter. Just hoping that I don't spend too much and that last year was not an abnormal one as far as spending was concerned.

However today was definitely a low spend/no spend day.

May is going to be a bit spendy for me as well, Jackie. Gardening stuff, Mother's Day, my Mom's birthday on the 5th, DD's birthday on the 22nd. Cards, cakes, gifts, etc. - thankfully I have budgeted for everything.

Well, yesterday I managed to get through without spending anything. Today will not be as good.....truck repairs, groceries, and maybe a bit of garden spending....

Well still sticking to trying to spend as little as possible, but I took a quick look at plants...Ouch prices have gone up there as well!!! This is going to be tough.

We had a no spend yesterday, but once again it will be spending today and on another vehicle.

However, we hope to sell some vehicle tire rims today and will make back a bit of case that can go towards the vehicle maintenance today. Might even pay it totally. But I have a feeling the guy I have been dealing with will not show up.

So we have had a few low/no spend days since I last posted. Still plant shopping must start soon and that is going to be pretty expensive. Inflation seems to have hit everything else so it has probably hit bedding plants as well. Times like this I wish I had a small greenhouse.

Oh well, making my plant list and will start to check things out very soon.

The 10th and today have been no spend days. Sunday I started on my flower buying. Still need to purchase many more, so I may make a trip tomorrow and see if any more of the ones I want are in.
