Saturday evening after I'd returned home from my last weaving class, I was told to go get ice cream for the Birthday Boy's cake/party. I took him with me to do the heavy lifting, as his Dad also wanted gatorade.

Re: Gayle's Frugal-Attempts Journal
Sunday was a no-spend day, thankfully! I visited 2 stores today, and hopefully Dh is somewhat appeased by the TP, rice, sugar & beans stock-up offerings. He still wants me to call SLC to check up on buying 1000 pounds of rice for our long term food storage; sure wish we could have done that 2 months ago, when we were out there for my chemo infusion!!!
Oh yeah, and He Did take 16K to pay off his credit cards!!! ARGH!!! I think that saving $$$ means so little to him!!! He keeps saying that he's going to give me "extra to help buy stuff, or to help pay your students loans when they come due" but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen!!

Courtesy of buying all that yogurt, I have a $2 coupon to use next time I shop at Smiths. Today I will also complete an online (or in-app) survey that will give me an additional 50 points, or 5 cents, off per gallon of gas when next I buy gasoline (probably next Monday).

Re: Gayle's Frugal-Attempts Journal
I WENT SHOPPING THIS MORNING, People were in full-on panic mode buying at Smiths (I heard first-hand accounts all day of the panicked -zoo that mobbed walmart, and even many sections are cleared out at the somewhat more expensive other grocery store in town.) I will be asking Dh for a little extra to help cover groceries this month, as I overspent my grocery budget at the case-lot sale on Monday, and only name-brand items were left on the shelves this morning (and precious few of those too). I still need milk & potatoes (cannot believe why those were part of the panic-buying but oh well, they are getting more on tonight's truck.

Re: Gayle's Frugal-Attempts Journal
Yes, I heard Friday was full panic at most grocery stores. I went to the bulk food store for nuts and I was the only customer there. I stopped at the dollar tree near the store and there was plenty of toilet paper. And no panic buying there either. Strange
