Used up those 4" squares in a quilt top and started another. This one out of flannelette 4" squares. I am hoping to finish it by the end of the month. Sandwiching, quilting and binding can wait until next month.

Some of the larger pieces of leftover fabric and the thermal fabric I bought over a year ago were cut out to fashion into oven mitts. These were supposed to be for the DS's for Christmas, but turned out they fit me instead. I get some oven mitts which actually I need.

I took the remnants of other fabrics, and of the thermal fabric and am now going to fashion some pot holders for them. I will use the techniques I used in making the oven mitts and that should make them perfect for lifting things out of the hot oven if they choose to use them that way.

Still lots of remnants of fabric left to use up and I have a few ideas for those. Hopefully I will get around to some of those this month... They are in fact on the project list.

I took some remnants of fabric, batting, and a lining fabric and made a case for my phone. It turned out okay, but a bit wonky. I decided to use some more remnants today and try to make another that suits the purpose. This first one I am calling my model and it won't go to waste. I will use it to put elecronic cords and chargers in when we travel once again.

Today I plan on making a matching case for my ereader. I pulled the 6" squares of corduroy fabric out of the box, have the white flannel scraps ready to go as well. I just need to thread my machine, change the needle as well (just remembered I used a knit fabric needle in it last) and get to putting my vision into reality.

This uses a bit more fabric from my stash of quilt making squares.

Ereader case made. Used up 6 of those large squares of fabric, plus a bit of leftover flannel.

Next month I have a few projects listed for sewing. I hope to use up a bit more of my stash. Mind you the little bits of cotton are all saved after to use in quilts and the leftover knit fabrics are saved and cut into strips for the rug I so want to make, so I really don't know if I will be much further ahead. Perhaps I will just have smaller pieces of stash....

So more stash use it ups happened this month.

I made some matching Christmas masks out of one piece of fabric I have had for years (two more pieces to go) and from some of the scraps made rug mugs.

Another piece of Christmas fabric is now cut into an apron and will be sewn at some point today or tomorrow.

I used some bright pink knit from my stash to make a skirt, and some black with white striped knit to make a pair of wide legged pants.

Then of course there was the red knit nightwear I made as well.

Of course once again the scraps have been collected to be used for something else.

Slowly but surely the stash is being worked.
