It's not so much 'me' time as it is time when 'we' aren't doing stuff that requires a whole lot of planning / cooking / organizing / making lists / grocery shopping (the great baked potato as a main course thing - it's fine, we're all vegetarian - well, all but one, but she never complains about free food )
I just want my down time to look more like down time and less like an extension of my work time, LOL.
Whiny, aren't I.
Today is a spend day. Tomorrow and Saturday are not. Projected % come Saturday night:
6 no-spend out of 18: 33.33%
Tomorrow is 'pay day' for me, which means pay day for the savings account.
All in all, on track.
OH! Tracking. Yeah. That lasted 3 days. It's just not going to happen. I track a whole lot of stuff for work and I opened 'my' spreadsheet a couple days ago and thought - No.
Not only am I whiny but apparently I'm lazy, too.
Sandi's 2020 $ Challenge
Re: Sandi's 2020 $ Challenge
Today is a spend day, as was yesterday.
Yesterday, Michael's, today, Hobby Lobby. DD is on a quest for.... something to complete a wreath project. I took down the Christmas wreath and she decided we need a 'winter but not Christmassy' replacement. Yesterday she wanted to look in the fake flowers area for a twig. A TWIG. I told her I can get her plenty of twigs, all we need is the pruning shears...
At any rate... 6 of 20 - back down to 30%.

30% is pretty good. Good job.
Re: Sandi's 2020 $ Challenge
PT - I've been released to do the exercises at home. Next week I see my orthopedic surgeon (back specialist) again. I don't know if it's the exercises or the drug and I don't care - I feel 20 years younger, sleep all night and can move in any direction I want - and SIT or RECLINE anytime I need to without pain. Whew!
No spend today. We're under a winter storm warning. I bet it rains, freezes, and the roads are icy in the a.m. - and DD is going back to the oral surgeon bright and ridiculously early - we think she has a dry socket. This could be tricky.
7 of 21 - 33.3%
Spending 'feels' high but I had to buy a new laptop, the graphics function was fizzling out on the other and the graphics card was part of the motherboard so.... no easy swap. Oh well, if it lasts as long as the other it'll only be ~ $100 a year for something I use nearly every single day.

Great news Sandi about your back.. The main thing is do not become complacent and slack off of your exercises. I saw many repeat patients due to that.
Bummer about your DD's possibility of having a dry socket. That can really be painful.
We are having the same bad weather here starting tomorrow night. I think it is coming up from your area.
I think many times we do not consider the cost of something over the long haul. Just the immediate cost seems too much but as you said if you get as much use out of it as the other one it really is not that much over the long term.. Enjoy your new laptop. Sounds like you did get your money's worth out of your old one.

My mom suffered from dry socket once. I can still remember her talking about how much pain she was in.SandiSAHM wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 6:45 pm PT - I've been released to do the exercises at home.
