Maggie, I will be thinking of you. I agree that companies are much to quick to let experience go to save a bit of money.

Logics, I agree that "doing" is Important. I am in a mainly low number area, and have moved back to semi normal activity without masks except for the doctor and large groups but I know for others it is not possible. I need one or two more things to get me out of the house on a semi regular basis. I am going to start taking chair yoga at the senior center and am looking at multiple volunteer situatiosn and trying to choose the best fit for me. I'm also trying to decide of I want to join the osher lifelong learning program here (olli)

It was only seventy five this morning (although it will be close to one hundred) so I was actually able to do about 35 minutes outside with the walker as soon as I got up. It really helps when I can get that out of the way first thing in the morning.

Today I am making my every few month list of everything I can do mainly free or cheap and like Florida it will include more things in another month. I haven't been doing any day drives cause it's so hot when I get there, so I hope to be doign a bit more soon.

Sons morning flight that arrived here at eleven thirty was cancelled. He now leaves Denver at six thirty and gets here at nine thirty, o joy!! I don't love driving 45 minutes in the dark at 70 MPH but we do what we need to do. At least now I know I can get hair and nails done today (Ive completely given up doing either myself).

Off to do constructive things for awhile.

Good morning all

Good luck Maggie!!

I didn't sleep well. Just thoughts going through my head. Worried about the COD. He's okay, but you never know. He does tell me not to worry..

Then the upcoming funeral. We are meeting again today to go through pictures.

Almost everything is ready.

I too have been feeling blah. Covid fatigue and the heat.

I have been busy this morning. I have a dress wash in the dryer and a towel wash in the washer.

H-E-B is still out of Mootopia Vanilla milk. Very frustrating, I will be placing an order tonight. Hopefully they will have it then.

Maggie, I know exactly how you feel. I was in a job for 30 years and was devastated when they let me go. I hadn't felt secure in any of the jobs that followed. I was 57 at that point and too young to retire as I was too far away from getting SS. And in my last job, I survived 3 layoffs before getting caught in the 4th. So I will definitely keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer for you.

Florida, yes there are some places I can go once I get my courage up. But we're still in a pretty high positivity rate (9.2%) and that's only counting people who were officially tested and not those who self tested and found themselves positive. BTW, the one place I really like when I visited Largo, Fl (before my sister's loss) we went to Heritage Village. They are redoing their pathways which needed it badly when we went so some of the buildings are off limits. But I really, really enjoyed that place. It was free admission but you could leave a donation.

Mackie, you're right; nothing seems the same any more and the longer it drags on the chances of it ever being the same again become even more dim.

Kitty, yes, I think I need to find something I can get involved in. I love my pastimes, don't get me wrong but everyone needs something they can look forward to. For me, I hadn't gotten a Christmas present in many years and I am OK with that, but being able to go to the parties just made the season that much brighter for me.

Quilter, yes I read about all the things you are able to do and think about how lucky you are and wish I could add more to my life too.

Man, it is steamy outside today. I spent a couple of hours going from apartment to apartment, which meant climbing outside stairs again, but this time I could stop for a few minutes between each floor. I am about to give up on dressing nicely, though. Not much point when the assigned tasks for the day are like going to the gym for hours at a time!

When I get home, I want to look at the tag in these Lee slacks, which I think I bought new on eBay, and see if I can find some more like it. The front pockets are so deep and roomy on these that I can carry my phone and the office emergency phone and not worry about anything falling out. There was even space for the handfuls of paper trash I picked up while walking around.

Good afternoon ...

Sunny and low 80s at the moment; it was rather fall-ish this morning.

Maggie, fingers crossed on the job; Been there, and it's nerve wracking.

Quilter, sending good thoughts to you and your family ...

Let's see, doctor's appointment yesterday He referred me to a specialist and is sending me back to PT. Then ordered an x-ray ... this is where the fun starts. Seems I've inherited the family curse: early-stage arthritis in my hips and pelvis. (Though the specialist gets to figure out if that's really to blame for my current problem.) And if anyone has any tips for managing/living with arthritis, I'd appreciate it. Once I get out of the woods a bit, I'm going to find a low-impact exercise class or two. Wouldn't hurt me to get out and do something social, too.

Otherwise, a bit of grocery shopping; mostly produce and fruit. Did find paintbrushes at Michaels ...half the price of other stores in the area.
