I’m home from the “new” Aldi. OMG it is SO nice!! I remember that Trees said her Aldi had already been remodeled and it would be worth the wait and that was certainly the case. (I did go to the produce stand first and got my golden delicious apples.)

Floridacat,
they remodeled our Aldi's last year and it is AWESOME!! I loved Aldi's before but now it is even better.
I am just waiting for the ruby river grapefruit to come in now...I love them so much!
Did you take time and check out their seasonal aisle? OMG! it is wonderful, I buy my self a stollen every year....and their German cookies , so, so good.
I also love their lower sodium bacon.
Honestly, the only things I don't care for are their pork and beans and the stone fruit in the produce section.
Glad you liked it.

Kitty, I looked briefly at the seasonal aisle but will go back again. Stollen sounds good. I’m not much of a cookie person. I did look at the special cheese. The past two years I’ve bought excellent Irish cheese there during the holidays. This year it is a different brand, just says Emporium Selection, but the one I got says Vintage Irish Cheddar Cheese. They had Mild and an in between one but I like my cheeses extra, extra sharp so I hope this is good.

I hope that you can de stress and enjoy the holidays once the estate is settled. My mom always said that money brings out the worst in people. Mom’s oldest brother reminds me of your brother and was a thorn in my mom’s side after my grandpa died.

hello Friends,

I've been sitting with my feet up, as I had badly swollen ankles Sunday night then somewhat swollen again last night. I did wear compression stockings on Sunday on the way home from OR, but I don't think they were very good.
We drove home from Oregon on Sunday, we left the in-law's house in a near-blizzard which made traveling difficult, though the farther west we went, we got out of the storm after 230 miles. Still took us 15 hours to drive what normally takes us 10 hours.

I think I mentioned a few months ago that my friend was going to do a tree for me in the annual Trees for Charity, she msg'd me last night that it sold for $19,500. :o :o I am still stunned! I guess I figured no one would buy it, or that it would only go for $1000-2000. How do you thank someone for that? I will write a thank-you note, but it seems almost too little.

I am weaving in ends on the dishcloths that I have knitted over the past few weeks, and watching YouTube videos to get ideas on a cute wrapping for them.

I just called one of the nurses at Huntsman, she has agreed to pass out my little packages. I'm giving some of my dishcloths to my medical team at Huntsman.

I tried to log onto my children's school accounts to pay lunch money, but the system is down. I'll have to reset my alarm for tomorrow morning and hope the website works then.

Ds15 went to OR with the flu, poor kid, and never got better. Dh & I took him to Urgent Care yesterday to discover that he has pneumonia, he has quarantined himself in his room, and sleeps.

Thursday is my 2nd chemo treatment which has a couple of prior appointments, then Friday is my appointment with Dr Panucci- hopefully he pulls in Dr Goodwin so we have more of an opportunity to talk with him than only on the day of my surgery. We will go out on Thursday morning-- dh had promised the girls that they could come along as Friday is dd8's 9th birthday, so I have had to go begging among all my family & friends for someone to watch the girls on Thursday; I think I've got it all figured out now though.

I also have blood labs to be drawn tomorrow morning so my chemo Dr knows how high my white blood count is, and if it's good enough for me to get this next chemo treatment.

Not sure on dinner tonight... I'd like to simmer last night's chicken carcass and have chicken soup, but will ask dh as he's teh cook these days.

Today I'm thankful that I can rest before the next lengthy car ride.

Good morning,
I went to the business club meeting this morning to represent my client. I had egg crepes and roasted potatoes for breakfast.

Yesterday I subbed at the school farther away and two people requested me to work a day for them. This morning my co-worker at the school near here asked me to work this Friday, next Tuesday, and the following Friday. I also work for her the week of the 16th. So I am pretty much booked until winter break. Being outdoors and getting exercise is always good!

Since I am off the rest of today I have been finishing up the Christmas decorating. Since I have critters in the house my decorating has become limited.

I have a latch hook project to start. It won't take very long. Then sew up the canvas on both my projects plus finish quilting a flat piece. I like these type of decorations because they are easy to put out and easy to store when the holidays are over. I may get some small dowels to hang these.

Well off to read some more of the forum and to get some things done.

Bev

I went to Walmart with my friend who lives acorss the hall. I was able to get most of what I needed. I did forget one item.

But I was able to find all I needed. Not necessarily in the size I wanted. Some items were much larger than I needed.

After we finished shopping we went to the in-store McDonalds and visited over a soda and cookies. We take turn buying. We get the get together visit over a meal and we only have a soda and cookie, much less expensive. We take turns buying.

Because our visit was so late I had a half a peanut butter sandwich for lunch.
