Popping back in: I ate my brown-bag lunch (leftover spaghetti) at my office and then came back to the office where I'm working a few days this week and tackled their nasty student laundry room. I scraped tape off the windows and cleaned them inside and out. Cleaned the outside seating area. Scraped gum off the outside of the dryers and the folding table, picked trash up from the floor, cleaned all the lint filters, put some clothes left in the washers in to dry, drained a washer full of dirty water (I have no idea how they did that), took out the trash, and then folded the left-behind clothes and laid them out to see if anyone claims them.

I get so mad at the campus housekeeping crew. The laundries are supposed to regularly cleaned and that one hasn't been in ages. There were hanks of hair on the floor where someone cut their hair in there! Ugh.

I have been doing more than I usually do. How strange

I've done laundry. Organized my vintage trunk that holds blankets and winter clothing.

Took out all my shorts from the short drawer and will be organizing that next.

Mackie I hope the powers that be see what a hard worker you are going above and beyond if you ask me. Sounds like a bunch of pigs are using the laundry room. Disgusting.

My neighbor called me bright and early to come over to repair my toilet. I had the stopper to fix it but could never get it installed properly. He also did some other things my brother had asked him to do. He and his wife are a blessing. She cuts my grass. Cannot find anyone else that wants to drive this far out. He has been cutting down the dead trees in my front yard. He asked if it was ok to come over and burn my burn pile when we get a couple of nice days without rain. Told him of course. He told me to not hesitate to call him if I need anything. He would not take anything for helping me. I will bake something and take it over to their house. My brother does pay his wife to cut my grass but he is taking the trees down without charge. He said he can use some of the wood for his wood burning stove. He is saving me at least $1,000 if not more. I have also been saving some of the wood to dry out for my own fireplace this Fall and winter. He cannot cut the other trees down until we get a place to burn the leftover limbs.

I did not get a nap in but did stretch out on the couch after my aide left and watched some TV. My aide and I did 4 loads of laundry. I actually had two loads washed and dried before she arrived this morning at 8:00 AM. They were dish towels and bath towels. She folded and put them away.

It was 38 F this morning. It is overcast and still chilly to the point I have had to turn the furnace off and on all day. I wish the weather would start to warm up soon. I have 5 tomato plants in my kitchen looking for nice sunny days outside. They will go on my deck once there seems to be some warm days ahead. I have been taking them out when the sun is out to try to harden them off. Today they sat in the kitchen looking sad.

Jackie, Have you been thinking of moving? Will you stay in the same area or relocate? Thinking down the road?
More like thinking down the road....Not sure if we would stay here or move the the city our youngest lives in. It would be 2 hours closer for our eldest DS as well. Hubby is not a big city person, but the older we get, the more I would like to be around specialists and a bigger/better equipped hospital.
