Daily Check-in June 6, 2021

Post by alliesmama4 »

Good morning. I am having periods of insomnia again. Bummer. I am really tired and go to bed around 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM but then my eyes pop open after about 2 or 3 hours of sleep. I finally caved in about 30 min ago and got up. I am going to work on some paperwork and take a muscle relaxer and hopefully become sleepy and go back to bed in about an hour.

Have a good day everyone.

Have you ever tried melatonin? I take it occasionally and have no after effects the next morning.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems sleeping. No suggestions for you as I sometimes suffer from those bouts of insomnia as well. I usually just go with the flow and eventually start sleeping again.

Good morning fellow frugalites,

I fell asleep in my chair last night and when I crawled into bed to do my usual hour of reading I am lucky if I made it 30 minutes before my eyes started to close. After Friday's rotten sleep, last night was wonderful!! Hope it continues.

We got some rain and while things look pretty wet, I am pretty sure that just the surface has been touched. The rain gauge says we hardly got anything at all. The skies are still overcast though so perhaps that means a bit more is headed our way. If not I will be watering once it cools off in the evening or headed outside to get that completed this morning.

The usual household tasks (plus some for yesterday) will need doing today. My arm feels slightly better now and my massive headache has finally gone away. I am still achy and the arm hurts to touch but nothing like yesterday. Perhaps that means an easier day of it as far as getting things done.

Frugal happenings are the usual. I will be making all meals from scratch, working on various projects, trying my hand at cooking in the Instant Pot once again (I have made two roasts in the machine, one was wonderful....the other not so much). I need to pull the roast out of the freezer right after my post.

I dropped off the pants for my friends father, went out to visit a sister-in-law for morning coffee yesterday and now I hope to be able to get some of my own sewing done. Might mean no coffee visiting outside for awhile, but that could be a good thing. I would definitely get more accomplished around the house.

I will also be making my list of household tasks for next week. I will not be doing much of anything on Wednesday but I can manage a few things before we have to leave for the city. One great thing about an afternoon appointment is that things can be accomplished at home before leaving. Even if it means coming home when traffic could be bad on certain sections of the road.

Bread and perhaps a pie will be made, though if I turn the oven on for pie I might as well make the roast in there as well.

It is also time to download some free books onto my reader. My unread book section is getting low and needs replenishing just in case.

Lots of taco salad leftover so we will be having it for lunch today (well at least I will) and probably for supper tomorrow night.

So roast for supper tonight along with mashed (?) potatoes, the last of the carrots cooked up and hopefully some asparagus (must use that up as much as possible).

Today I am grateful for whatever rain we get as it is so dry.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Owned I have watched Heartland off and on but will give it another check out. It is filmed in my neighbouring province.

Owned thanks for the suggestion but I have tried melatonin but it does not help. I see a pulmonary specialist due to severe sleep apnea and use a c-pap machine. She wants to send me to a specialist for insomnia but the two places she has suggested are too far away for me to go. The Dr that did my sleep test forbids me to take any kind of a sleep aide due to the fact that I stop breathing for up to 70 seconds at a time. My sleep efficiency is 57%. It takes me over an hour to fall asleep and then I hardly reach REM sleep before I start to wake up. No wonder I am tired when I go to bed.
