His surgery will be in July...they are backed up due to COVID....but she assured us that a few weeks would make NO difference regarding the cancer. She will remove the cancer with wide and deep margins...then send it down to the lab to make sure the margins are clear. Then he will have sentinel node surgery. Radioactive dye is injected into the site (before the first surgery) then it is mapped under a machine that follows it to the first set of lymph nodes. The first few nodes are removed and will be checked for cancer to see if it has spread. That takes about a week for the results..they use stains etc. Then she will clear the margins on a spot on his arm that was biopsied and is not cancer..but has atypical cells.
IF there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes the cancer stage goes from. 1B to a stage three. She does NOT think that that will be the case..but says she can't rule that out til we have the results.
We both liked the surgeon VERY much...young...very thorough...took all the time we needed for questions.
So...we are optimistic.
DH is the love of my life. Our 49th anniversary is next week. We met when I was 17.
Thank you so much for all your good wishes. It means so very much.

Praying for good results for Jackie.
Happy 49th anniversary! I like that he is the love of your life. Will keep him in our prayers and hope he has a quick recovery! Wishing you both the best!

Alliesmama, that is scary about your vision-will pray for you that you can retain whatever vision you can and hopefully not lose any-I did not see a post about this but saw someone's response on this,so hope everything will be okay.

Jackielou, I always told my patients to write down all the questions they may have first before even going in-think about it at home where you have time and not feel any pressure. Write down complete answers too not a few words bc when I look back on my answers sometimes I am like what the heck was I writing and have no idea-so I have to write out complete answers now! I will keep you in my prayers that everything goes okay for you and be the best outcome for you!

Today it is windy and gusty but a beautiful bright day. We went to get the CT scan for dh-they found a lung nodule when they were checking out his heart bc of chest pains. His heart was ok, but then they found the lung nodule-oh great-sheesh! One thing after another! He is not one for any PDA out in public so he surprised me when he put his arm around me as we were walking through the parking lot and hugged me and told me thank you for coming with him (I go to all his appts). I was stunned lol, of course, I said.

Anyway, I am hoping it is nothing bc they thought my son had an aggressive cancer in the lungs two days before Christmas they told me and ruined our Christmas that year! That was the year I had like 12 horrible things happen to me one after another-everything from knee surgery, deaths in the family, even lice(eeew gross! My dd got it from school and spread it to me-eeewww!). But this was the worst of it when they told me he may have cancer-and after the biopsy-it was thank goodness (I prayed sooo hard and had everyone praying too-you may remember that!?) it ended up to be an encapsulated wall over an old infection.

Now what are the possibilities of that happening like where in the world did that come from!? So I truly believe in divine intervention bc it has happened so many times in my own life-unexplainable things that only through God it has to be, but that is what I believe at least.

So I am hoping it will be something like that-I hope....We luckily do not have any cancer on either side of our families-but he uses all that Roundup and pesticides,etc-I told him I will live with spiders Idc. I even was bitten by a poisonous spider and had cellulitis that almost turned into sepsis-and I would still live with spiders than have pesticides, etc.

Frugal happenings: I used the zucchini and cucumbers from my garden (didn't know cucumbers had spikey things on there on the outside-peeled those off). So I had 4 chicken thighs, so two pieces went to kung pao chicken and i diced the chicken and zucchini and a half of a red bell pepper and added peanuts. I had gone to the Asian market and often I buy the 1.00 bag of produce they have clearancing out the vegetables so I got two papayas (which normally are expensive like 7.00 or so) for 1.00 and 3-4 huge eggplants which were getting soft but still looked good. I made a Thai eggplant and chicken (only two pieces of thigh)dish with Thai basil and fried tofu pieces.

The other eggplants I will cut and will make an Indian Baingan eggplant dish. All produce for a dollar or free from my home garden. We already ate part of it and there is still so much more like at least two or three even more meals for each dish so it is like .55 a serving or so for the eggplant dish(1.65 a meal for three and made about 9 servings or so) and maybe like .56 cents a serving(1.68 for a meal of three and made about 9 servings) for the kung pao dish. So made out on that one. Really cheaper than eating out at a restaurant where you would pay here like 10-11.00 for these dishes these days at Panda Express for the kung pao and get much less or the local Thai place and I made three to four times as much!

Oh, the cucumbers I smashed it added some sesame oil, freshly chopped lots of garlic, red flake chile and rice vinegar and a bit of stevia (should be sugar)and soy sauce. Great on a hot day! Had some kim chee too. Actually may extend even further since I do not eat dinner-although today I am a bit hungry now as I am writing about this-uh oh-lol! I am really glad my garden is producing this year-although my dh says you use so much water for such few produce coming out that you end up paying more for the water-so Idk-but I still like my own produce and picking it out from my own garden! Tastes better too! Only thing is this year I bought a lot of cherry tomatoes and only got one regular tomato plant, Idk why I thought I had it I guess already-so I am using the cherry tomatoes as regular tomatoes too for cooking and I am fine with that-think it tastes just as good!? Oh also I go to this Afghani market and the guy is soooo nice and his sister too they always try to give me FREE things-he gave me a huge box of mangoes (btw today in the Asian store I saw baby mangoes like the size of my thumb and I never saw that before!?) for free. BUT I know they are a business and have to make money so I told the sister to charge me for it anyway-he had loaded it in my car-he is always giving me free food. So she charged me what they pay for it only 5.00 for a box of like 20 mangoes which is a great deal still! They are just such a sweet family! The box at the Asian store was almost 15.00 and had a lot less mangoes like 9, so got a great deal!

I am soooo sore all over like I think my body flared up over the last exercise class or maybe the classes all combined and compounding on each other! I felt it getting out of bed esp my arms and shoulder and neck so I took it easy since I had my dh's ct scan anyway. The last class I actually liked it was bc it was like ballet which was like home for me. But they added weights to the arm movements so that is probably why I am sore now. They had this rolling foam thing to massage you or roll over-I got that from PT one time and didn't know really how to use it and was so uncomfortable that I threw it away-now that I know how to use it I should have kept it! I got it free, but I think it is worth like 40.00 or so-it was just sitting in the garage! As I am moving my body and typing I am hearing audible cracks and noise coming from my body-not good-lol! Oh made my own Thai iced tea today and cooling! The rick is the type of tea you use-they have special Thai tea which is orangey in color and you can add lime or just healf and half or condensed sweet milk if you want it like the restaurants-nice and refreshing! Took me years to figure this out-it was the darn tea that was different! Hmmm...just wondering if it is food color that makes the orange color or the tea-hmmm, have to check that out! I went to check that-sigh it is yellow food coloring-hate stuff like that-so next time find Thai black tea without dye and it has vanilla too (I will not get fake vanilla flavoring bc that is beaver butt juice I call it! Made from the beaver's uh hum glands! SO gross-like who in the world would think of using beaver's butt glands for a food flavoring like how would you even try to experiment with that by tasting it first?!).

FrugalMom - homegrown tomatoes are the best!

I wish I had planted more cherry tomatoes. Only planted two. And they are my favorite for salads. And to just eat off the vine

Am so keeping busy that I don't know where the time is going these days.

Floridacat, so sorry to hear about Pippi's medical issues. Its really hard to watch a pet struggle.

Jackie, wishing you well with your medical challenges.

Alliesmom, you're in my prayers. The thought of losing any part of one's vision is frightening to me.

Into my 4th week of my diet program already (sheesh) and have managed to lose an average of 1/lb a week; an A+ for me considering I haven't been able to lose any weight for the past 10 or so years. I am pushing myself to do it, though. I've not had to change my eating much but where I was trying to get at least 1/2 hr of exercise a couple days a week, I'm now pushing myself to 1 to 1-1/2 hours per day 7 days a week, not the 5 days I had originally planned to do. It's tough and definitely not fun.

Well going to run for now.

Logics
Logics Thank you so much for remembering me in your prayers. That means a lot to mean.
Congrats on your weight loss and good luck on your working more on exercises. It seems that weight comes on faster than it goes away... lol.

Jackie, I’ll be thinking of you. Don’t hesitate to ask the doctor any questions, even minor ones. Good idea about having the notebook.

Pippi had a good day yesterday, back to her old self. She was a good girl at the vet and even gained a few ounces. There is a lovely new vet assistant who has returned Pippi to the car several times lately.

Today I’ll meet my friend for coffee/tea late morning. Trying to combine trips, I plan to go to CVS afterwards. I did a $10 survey last week and also have a 25% off non-sale items coupon. CVS non-sale prices are high but it is the best place to find the headache medicine I prefer. I’ll get some Tide pods, too.

For the first time since March 2020 I’m going to get a Redbox movie. I want to see Courier with Benedict Cumberbatch. I lost all my Redbox points which expire in a year but still have $1.69 on an old gift card. Redbox movies are $1.80 (plus tax, I think).

I’ve started on a 1,000-piece “gradient” puzzle which is basically a color spectrum. I watch KarenPuzzles on YouTube (thanks to the tip from Logics) and she has done several of the more expensive ones. Mine is from Buffalo and I think prettier than some of the other gradient puzzles.

Have a good day.
Wow Florida Cat.. I would be whimpering in a corner if I tried this puzzle. I do like puzzles but this one is going to be hard.. Good luck.

Good to hear Pippi is doing somewhat better.

I have some very positive news! My second Pfizer vaccine is scheduled for this coming Monday at Shoppers. Forget about the provincial booking system- much more efficient to just go through the pharmacies in Ontario. Through the provincial system I am not even eligible to book an appointment yet for my age group.

Creative happy to hear you are going to be receiving your shot sooner than anticipated. What a relief..
