Good afternoon friends. It's a hot and hazy day in the middle of a hot and hazy week. Monday I had an ophthalmologist appointment. The cells in my cornea are dying more and more. My doctor is talking about sending me to a corneal specialist in Indianapolis when it's time to do the surgery. Ugh...

I saw my surgeon yesterday, just long enough for him to look at my incision. It's continuing to heal and close up on its own. I'm on my third round of antibiotics just to be sure. I'm still seeking a stim setting to deal with the numbness and still haven't found one. In fact, the last setting I had actually overstimulated my system and the numbness was magnified. Ouch. So I've backed way off for now to give myself a break. It's just a lot to deal with.

I haven't been spending any money lately, other than for groceries. The sticker shock there is enough. I did hit the Chick-fil-A drivethru on my way home Monday. But I think I'm done with driving and spending for the rest of the week.

Owned, your daughter is in my prayers.

So sorry to hear this. I will keep you and LeAnn in my prayers. Yes we must always have hope.

Good afternoon beautiful people,

It’s a lovely day today and the forest fire smoke seems to be blowing in a different direction. The sun was a little hazy first thing in the morning and had a red ring around it.

Dh was home today to spend time with me, so we both got our 10,000 steps in with a long walk. We had our lunch tea and fruit outside and enjoyed watching the birds - some flighty goldfinches and robins enjoying the sour cherries in our tree. He is going to mow the lawn now. Just another lazy summer’s day!

I got my capris from Eddie Bauer in the mail today and they fit perfectly! I am very happy with them. It almost felt like “Christmas in July”! I took care of paying some bills and got some clarification regarding our house and car insurance. Of course I had to leave a message for them to call me back. In fact I had left the message yesterday. You never seem to be able to reach a live person when making any business call - instead you get to wade through a whole menu of options.

I need to prepare a pile of green beans and fresh herbs for our dinner vegetable tonight and if I am ambitious I could chop some veggies for my dinner entree bean soup. I still have a small amount of vegetable lasagna for dinner tonight so don’t really have to do this until tomorrow.

Have a great rest part of the day!

I will continue to say prayers for LeAnn.

Good Evening Friends. The heatwave has returned - but at least it rains every day. Last night was the fiercest thunder and lightening storm I have seen in my 57 years on this earth. The lightening came in "sets" - several strikes without even a second of a break in between - and it was in multiple locations at the same time, booming thunder and raining so hard that several inches of water was rushing down the street.

I spent several tense minutes - like 30 - alone inside of my boss's house with her dogs, waiting out the worst of it. I was very uncomfortable. It is an old Victorian - gorgeous - but rather spooky under such circumstances. Her robotic vacuum kept beeping and lighting up and "chattering", adding to my nervousness.I was glad for enough of a break in the worst of it to be able to say goodnight (and GOOD LUCK) to the dogs and make a run for it.

It has been a busy week at work and with keeping things up at home. I feel like I must be about at the half way point until my coworker returns and takes her job back. I'm hanging in there but it's tough - really tough (not complaining, just explaining).

Tomorrow is Hope's Vet appointment for her allergy shot at 3:15. I will leave work at 2:45, come home, and leave with her at 3:00. Then back to work and working quite late - until probably 7:00 p.m.

Well, I am off to make some food and clean the kitchen before doing my "dog job" again. Have a good night, friends.
