Good morning again beautiful people!

Today is my favourite day because of photography club. Our plans today are to go to a conservation area that is a bird sanctuary. Our bird viewing may be a little slim as it’s mainly water birds but I would be so impressed if we spot a snow goose! We do have Canada geese that seem to linger all year round as some people feed them. But we’ll probably spot lots of chickadees, sparrows and crows which remain plentiful even in the coldest of temperatures. I will have to be careful not to freeze my fingers! I will wear my texting gloves underneath a warm pair of mittens so my fingers will never be uncovered. I am also going to walking club at our Waterfront this morning as my friend’s new furnace broke down and they have been without heat for four days now. They had to wait for a part. The furnace is only a month old, so they’re not very impressed! Of course under warranty but still. Their furnace is an Armstrong Air. We went with a Trane for both the furnace and air conditioning- very happy with both!

All these activities take up a huge chunk of my day but I also hope to give my hair an all over colour. This is a task I really despise but it desperately needs to be done and I know I will feel much better when it’s done. Dh and Dd2 will have leftovers for dinner so that’s a determining factor. I should prepare a vegetarian entree from scratch, but have some leftover pad Thai that could be heated.(actually a Summer Fresh salad). Then I just need to think about a couple of veggie sides.

If I have any remaining energy, I will continue on with the Christmas cards, especially the ones that go overseas. That way they will have half a chance of arriving before Christmas! I received my first card last Friday.

Well have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning, all. I am in the waiting room at the eye surgery center where DS is having his first cataract fixed. They have the air conditioning on and syrupy Christmas carols going, so I am at the end of the room with the TV, huddled in my coat, watching two guys with more tattoos than convicts nail plastic flowers to a house, supposedly as part of rehabbing it but it looks like lipstick on a pig to me.

Not watching a lot of TV does not increase one's wonder with it past a certain age. :-D

I spent much of yesterday cleaning, mostly dusting. Our ceiling fan was awful! Also cleaned the microwave, ran the self clean cycle on the oven, used a razor blade to scrape the glass window clean, and dust mopped everywhere the robovac can't go. Cleaned lampshades and ran throw pillows and sofa throws through the washer and dryer. Whew.

Also fixed a few things for my lunches and popped those in the freezer.

Today will be spent tending to DH. I expect he will nap a lot once we get home and I probably will get one in myself.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning fellow frugalites,

I am amazed it is above freezing here this morning, and not to jinx anything but supposedly on Tuesday we are to reach almost 15* C, pretty much unheard of for this time of year. Still if it happens most will be over joyed.

As it is Monday I have a very long list to get completed, which keeps me from getting into trouble and since my friend is going to see her specialist in the capital I won't be getting a phone call today to visit for coffee. I am thinking of going to check out my old neighbours apartment though and have a short visit with her. I will give her a call later this morning to see if she is going to be home and if today is not good what day would be. Pretty sure she is well settled into her place by now.

Household chores will be done as frugally as possible following my usual methods. I also plan on checking on what cleaning supplies I have stored in the large cupboard in the back of the basement. I always seem to forget about that area of storage.

I really enjoyed not having to run to the basement freezers every day last week, so I will continue to bring up the weeks main courses and put them in the fridge freezer basket. Monday is a great day to do this as I am up and down the stairs constantly for laundry purposes. Not much will be coming from the freezer though since I have leftovers already packaged and in the other freezer basket.

Along with the new Christmas decorations I made with the Cricut yesterday, I almost finished the first strip of the knitted blanket. Just two more black strips and two white strips and it will be done. I need to keep these fingers flying in order to be done.

Hubby got most of the lights on the downstairs tree before the football game yesterday. I hope he can add a string or two to forlorn little tree in my living room at some point today. I hope that tomorrow I can get down to decorating both. My house hardly looks or smells festive right now. I need to get that changed. My festive spirit seems to be somewhat lagging this year.

I also plan on getting my budget figures entered....I can't see us spending more before the end of the month.

Supper tonight is going to be Mushroom Meatballs, the leftover mashed potatoes, and a salad (the one I didn't make last night  )

Today I am grateful for my neck feeling oh so much better today.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Good Morning friends,

I have a Turkey leg and 2 wings simmering in some water to make broth. I need to fill my freezer with some soups. Last night I ordered the last gifts I want to buy. Of course this morning I just made a purchase on Amazon for me. LOL!.
As soon as I am done here, I need to get gas, and run to the grocery. I will meet up with support group friends for dinner. I need to get out. I have basically spent the last 3 days in my home with no socialization.
Have a great day,
Maggie

I plan on cooking my chicken this morning. I haven’t checked yet to see if I have the giblets or not. If not I will still cook the neck and tail to get broth to use for the stuffing.

I will be making mashed potatoes with the instant mashed, and cooking my sweet potato.

Last night I finished one mug mat, I still have several to go.
