Just a few ideas to get you started…

Library of Congress - Practically everything you ever wanted to know about practically everything https://www.loc.gov/ (check out Story Corps - tons of amazing personal human interest stories)

List making - lots of fun ideas on these lists, surely they are bound to spark some fun/joy/ideas:

Hoopla - many public libraries have partnered with this digital library. Great source for tons of audio books, television episodes, movies…

Virtual museum visits - tons of options…without needing a passport

Plan a garden (a victory garden, perhaps?), study Monet’s garden, a proper English garden, Victorian garden

Use your colored pencils to explore the inky world of Johanna Basford https://www.johannabasford.com/

Create your own Criss Cross puzzle - share it with family/friends/neighbors https://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/criss-cross

Read/study the Constitution of the United State of America https://constitutioncenter.org/media/files/constitution.pdf

Play cards … with actual vintage playing cards (easy to find at any thrift store for a buck or less)

Using simple materials, make Christmas ornaments to give away (thousands of examples on Pinterest)

Make spun cotton mushrooms - great on a Christmas tree, hanging in the window, in a pretty dish, fun package toppers, gifts for nature lovers https://www.smilemercantile.com/blogs/tutorials/92604615-how-to-make-spun-cotton-mushrooms

Become an herbalist for fun and health https://chestnutherbs.com/

Break a few plates/cups/bowls? Make a mosaic.

Read -anything and everything. Read aloud - even if only to yourself. It makes you more confident and relaxed in social situations, makes you enunciate your words more clearly, increases your vocabulary, allows you to work on the cadence and rhythm of your own patterns of speech - and it’s a fun challenge!

Make your own postcards (using your junk journal supplies?), and send them to friends, relatives…a nursing home

I heard the term "junk journal" mentioned once before (oh now I know, I went back to the first post in this thread) and had to look it up. At first I thought you and Happy were talking about bullet journals. In my opinion I think it's a terrible name for a book that depicts memories and thoughts and even beauty. I think I prefer the traditional terms: scrapbooking, memoir and just plain journaling. Call me old fashioned I guess.

Lots of good ideas Randamax. I may have to look up the herbalist thing.

A junk journal is supposed to be made with found and around the house objects rather than new. I suppose you could call it an upcycled journal.

I went to a crochet class today.

Had a good time being around people again. And we all wore masks. All vaccinated.

My mom used to do this and it seemed so relaxing to her. Going to make an effort to stick with this and maybe dig up an old embroidery kit I had.

That's one thing I don't do. I never learned how to crochet. Hope you enjoy it. Pretty sure it has to be at least as relaxing as knitting is to me.
