Take care, Bev. Hope you feel better soon.

Jackie, Sister Wives is my guilty pleasure. I saw on the news a few weeks ago that Christine has left Cody and is living near her family in Utah. That one has been coming a long time. I wonder about Merri and how long she’ll hang in. If he’s not careful, Cody may end up with just one wife…at least until he decides to marry some more. Sheesh.

Afternoon all. I had a late night. Finally fell asleep sitting up in my chair (I hate that) around 3, I think. Audrey woke me up at 5:30. I thought she wanted out but no…she was just anxious. Poor thing. It doesn’t happen very much at all anymore – in fact, she did great with all the rain we had last week. But sometimes out of the blue she’ll still have one of her “spells.” Anyway, we went to bed then. I didn’t get up until almost 10! I hate all these weird sleep patterns.

I was supposed to see the pain doc today, but they left a voicemail this morning and said they had to reschedule. Angela, my NP, is sick. Makes me wonder if it’s Covid. Anyway, I’m waiting on a call back to get a new appointment. I’m disappointed because I wanted to ask about starting a new drug. Oh well. Patience is not my strong suit, lol. I would love it if they would pick back up with virtual visits. I’ll ask about it when they call me.

I have a roast with veggies in the oven. Ordinarily I would make some biscuits to go with, but no. We just don’t need the bread. I have a big salad made up in the fridge, so we can have some of that with our meal tonight.

It’s sunny and 55 degrees out there. I may try and get out to the back of the driveway in a bit. It looks like there’s some wind. That’s always the determining factor as to how long I can stay outside. But I’d love to get some sunshine. I’ve been using my light therapy each morning and I think it helps, but there’s nothing like the sun on my face.

I got an email from Delta that our airfare credits which were good through the end of this year are being extended to December 2023 for travel through 2024. I wonder if there’s any way I’ll be able to navigate through our airport and actually take another trip. We have almost $2,000 in credit to be used, and I sure would hate to lose that money completely. Even if DH and I flew to Atlanta, rented a car and drove up to the North Georgia mountains it would be a lovely getaway. But logistics…logistics of how I could possibly navigate all that seem impossible. Oh well, at least there’s more time to think/dream/worry about it, lol.

FloridaCat, your trip sounds amazing. Fingers crossed you’ll be able to go and that you have a fabulous time. We’ve been watching a lot of Escape to the Country episodes and my dream is for us to go to England/Wales/Scotland. My homeland. All my genealogy research leads me back to there. DH’s family is from Italy, but he would be happy to go to England, lol.

I have a few dishes soaking in the sink and need to go finish them.

Today seems to be seeing the decline of Covid on campus, thank goodness, so today is mostly mopping up operations. Our office was a complete wreck, with meal trays, cases of water and all kinds of clutter thrown around everywhere. I spent the first hour of my work day cleaning up and organizing. One of the graduate students is running her legs off restocking rooms and grumbling mightily. I hope this latest surge is it for a good while. Forever would be great!

My brother called and he has the Omicron variant. I was afraid it would catch up with him because he continued to eat out several days a week in restaurants and to go to concerts. He said he just feels like he has a bad cold. He is fully vaccinated and had the booster, so he should be okay.

Did anyone notice the enormous full moon last night? It was just gorgeous here. This morning as I was driving to work, it was still sailing in the sky over the mountains.
Sorry to hear about your brother having covid. I do hope it does not get too bad for him. I do hope that the virus is winding down on the campus.

I mentioned the moon to my aide this morning. I was out late with Teddi last night and then when I got up so early it was amazing with the snow on the ground. Lovely!

Well one day I might get some decent sleep. Today I had to get up at 4. Then 5, 6, 7. At 7 the pups went out.

They are ready to go out again. I tried to just stay in bed and rest but no go. So I am up with a cup of coffee.

Plan on going to the library after lunch to deliver the Cricit. And then go to the grocery store. Need milk and things like that.

Hope all have a great day.
Clem if you are getting up every hour due to needing to go to the bathroom you might have a bladder infection. You might want to check into it. It does not always burn when you have one. I used to have them so much and did not know that was the problem.

I went to bed late. I watched my Arizona Cardinals get KILLED by the LA Rams. I always cheer for a Cardinals team because that was our team in High School. LA had an exceptional game and deserved to win. I watched some news after the game was over and went to bed just before midnight. I got up at 6:30 am which is early for me. I know I'll get in a nap today. I just need that to keep going until 10 pm at least.

I am cooking 2 pounds of kidney beans. I will package up what I won't be using in tomorrow's chili and freeze them. I looked up cooking them in the crockpot. I couldn't believe that I learned you should NEVER cook kidney beans in a crockpot!! The temperature doesn't get high enough to kill off some kind of chemical that upsets the stomach and can make some people sick. Huh, who knew? I am doing them on the stove top after having soaked them all night. I looked up how to cook them and hopefully I get them to the texture i like for my chili and such.

I have to go out this afternoon and get some Sour Cream. I need it for my Sour Cream White Cake with Lemon Filling and Vanilla Frosting. I have to make up the lemon filling today also. Shouldn't take too much time, I have a Sherrif box mix for that.

We had a fair amount of snow overnight. Not enough to make cleaning off the Van horrific though, as long as there isn't a layer of icy rain in there some place I'll be good!

I want to go to a locally owned stationary store to get Dayton her birthday present. She turns 9 on Sunday and Zoe has her 41st birthday on Monday. Dayton was her birthday present 9 years ago! We always celebrate our birthday week. The pandemic put a crimp on us going out for a "family" dinner though. Still trying to think of a gift for Zoe. Maybe BEV would have an idea? She is an educational assistant at a school and works mostly with disabled kids. For Dayton I am going to get her a pack of 12 Staedtler Colored pencils that are also water color pencils. You can use them just like regular colore pencils and then if you use a wet paintbrush can get a lovely water color effect. The first time I ever heard of them was when I went to the Art Gallery for a show done with them. It was quite stunning. They only cost $6.00 so it's still within this month's budget as I knew I had these two birthdays to celebrate.

I got the dishes that were soaking in the sink done last night and put away this morning. Also got the dishwasher unloaded. I need to get another box of dishwasher detergent, that might be on the weekend though.

My friend, Spring, sent me a recipe off of a Facebook site that looks VERY good. I posted it in the recipes section. It is for Chicken Pot Pie Soup. She is going to make it today and I'll pick her brain to see what she would change about it or if she would keep to just sticking to the recipe.

I got up early and had two cups of coffee. I think I will have hash browns and eggs for lunch and maybe a sandwich for supper with soup.

That's the skinny from around here!!

MJ
MJ thanks for the advice regarding cooking kidney beans in a crock pot. I am going to be doing more beans from scratch and had no idea that the crock pot was not a good option.

Your gift for Dayton sounds like a really good one.

Rona is in da house. Today I could barely get out of bed. My blood sugar was also higher than usual. I will be going back to bed shortly and checking my temperature. I'm glad I was able to get things done yesterday and the day before so I don't have to worry about anything today.

Bev
Bev so to hear this. Take care and hope you are better soon.

I also have an overactive bladder - so that contributes to this nonsense - lol
