Sunny and low 80s at the moment; it was rather fall-ish this morning.

Maggie, fingers crossed on the job; Been there, and it's nerve wracking.

Quilter, sending good thoughts to you and your family ...

Let's see, doctor's appointment yesterday He referred me to a specialist and is sending me back to PT. Then ordered an x-ray ... this is where the fun starts. Seems I've inherited the family curse: early-stage arthritis in my hips and pelvis. (Though the specialist gets to figure out if that's really to blame for my current problem.) And if anyone has any tips for managing/living with arthritis, I'd appreciate it. Once I get out of the woods a bit, I'm going to find a low-impact exercise class or two. Wouldn't hurt me to get out and do something social, too.

Otherwise, a bit of grocery shopping; mostly produce and fruit. Did find paintbrushes at Michaels ...half the price of other stores in the area.
The specialist will probably have some great recommendations for medications and such. My knee arthritis is the result of accidents mostly. I take the generic of Mobic, a prescription anti-inflammatory drug, and also use Voltaren gel, a topical anti-inflammatory, as needed. Never saw any improvement with supplements, although some people do.

My family doctor is also cheerleading me losing weight, as every pound of excess weight puts 9 pounds of impact on arthritic knees. I have lost 15 pounds since May. Good, supportive shoes also make a difference, I have noticed, as my job frequently requires a lot of walking. When my shoes are wearing out, my knees hurt a lot worse.

Quilter does water exercises, which are great for bad hips, especially in a heated pool.

Our humidity went down. It is in the 60's F here and I have my door to the balcony open. It is nice.

Still nervous about my job. If only because there is a history of letting go of high earners and replacing them with cheaper, fresh grads. And the fact that I don not have a billable position right now. But we will see. I will keep being present online. We will see. The fact that a daily meeting was accidentally deleted and recreated ("with everyone who was on the old except for people who have left") and I was left off. It very well could have been a simple oversight, but I have a history of missing signs that something unfavorable was happening. So i will double check my resume. Friday afternoon is a traditional time for such notices.

My Dr. appointment was mostly good news. And not renewing my blood pressure meds was an accident and refills were ordered. I need to go back in 4 weeks for a nurse visit about my blood pressure. I have uploaded my health form for insurance.

Anyways, I am enjoying the weather and maybe doing some sewing tonight.

Have a great day,
Maggie
Hoping all is well for you at work.

silver sneakers is low impact. Walking is honestly the best exercise. I walk in a pool wish shoes and it helps immensly however, it's not considered weight bearing exercise in terms of osteo porosis and such. I wear really really good shoes (asics or sas in my case, I rarely even do clarks any more. I also heat before exercise and cool afterward.

I've had some luck with turmeric and glucosamine/condroiton (sp), also hip arthritis, trochanteric bursitis and knee issues.
There is an oral version of Voltaren that can help.

Have a great day,

I was ALWAYS nervous in my job as a hotel front desk clerk at a 3 star hotel. I was close to leaving when I got fired. BOY! Did I EVER make a scene! I'm kind of ashamed of myself and kind of happy with the glorious way I went out.

I sure hope your Friday is good news and not disappointing. You work so hard at your job and just got a promotion this spring. I can't understand why they wouldn't keep you on staff. I've got some prayers for you tonight and hope all goes well.

Salut mes amis!

I went to bed early last night as I knew I'd be spending the day with my little Yorkie girl, Charlee. WELL! I was to be here around 10 am and just woke-up about 9:45 am to realize that I had gotten a little TOO comfy last night. I booted it out of the house in time to be here for my Charlee girl and we've had a lovely day. I am going home about 6 pm and her parents will be home shortly after that.

Tonight, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football team is playing a home game in Winnipeg. I hope they show it on TSN. They haven't lost a game the entire season and are set to break the record of 12 straight wins! It should be an exciting game if I can find a channel to watch it on!

I almost laughed out loud when Merrick Garland game out and called trump's bluff today by saying he has asked a Federal Judge to release the search warrant and the list of items they got from Mar-a-lardo since trump told everybody about it already. LOL Such a stealth and classy move!! I do hope the judge unseals it and we can all see what they went for and what they got. It should be very enlightening to democracy loving and rule of law Americans.

It's been overcast all day but no sign of rain in sight. It almost looks like smoke from forest fires but there aren't any in our region or regions where it would blow in from. The termperature is normal mid to high 70s so it's a kind of weird day.

No big plans on when I get home. I'll look after the plants and see how my little Opal gal is doing and make supper.

John gave me some more of his venison summer sausage. Holy smoly is that ever good! I am going to fry up some potatoes and have a link of his sausage for supper.

That's the skinny for now!!
