I've only been to a casino twice - out by the texas border.
And yea the food was the main thing - lol.

Yeah, this DS has a high pain tolerance. As a kid he stuck a pencil in his hand, left behind the graphite tip and came to me 2 days later saying it hurt (was getting infected). He kept thinking it was his Plantar Fasciitis. Thus his visits to the Podiatrist. Both my boys inherited my flat feet.clemencia2us wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 1:10 pm wow - I am surprised he wasn't in pain before. I had a small fracture in my foot and boy I could not put any weight on it. The pain didn't stop until I had it wrapped up. Then I was in a soft cast until the swelling went down and then in a regular walking cast.

Good afternoon!
Sunny today and just hit 80 degrees.
Made some headway on the painting, but I think I was on my feet for too long ... my lower back is fussing a bit. So, I sit with a heating bag, then get up and move a bit, then sit again. (like now )
Outside of that, not a lot going on. Need to finish filling out my "history" for my doc's appointment tomorrow. (Bleh, considering that some of this info is already in their system)
Not overly impressed with the grocery ads, but still need some basics from Aldi.
Clem, sorry to hear about the new losses in your family. Sometimes it seems like these things come in bunches.

I usually go for the food, too. Not much of a gambler.clemencia2us wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 1:20 pm Bev

Oh my! So many funerals. Keeping everyone in mind.
Making some progress of the list of chores I set out on the 12th. It's almost a week later and I still have quite a few items which haven't been done.
Today I'm busy moving all the food from the old refrigerator to the new one that was delivered yesterday. (Did I mention that I bought a new refrigerator?) Overall it's larger than the previous one, but I think the majority of the extra space is in the freezer. Since I have two freezers (one chest freezer & one upright) in the garage, I'm wondering if I should have looked at "pure" refrigerators which don't have a freezer compartment at all. Too late now.
Getting the new fridge has been good -- I found a few things that had gotten lost in the fridge that I wound up tossing. I'm probably going to be rearranging stuff in the fridge for quite a while. I'm finding it a real challenge to decide what belongs where since Its layout is quite different. I think fridge bins may be a good idea, too.
The one other big thing I'm doing today is starting a crock of sauerkraut. I'm hoping that it doesn't spoil in the week I'll be gone.
Yeah. Being a snow bird sounds appealing until I think about being at a house in the North and wanting something that's in the house in the South -- or vice versa.LogicsHere wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 4:42 am But it would be nice to be able to be in an area where it stayed in the low to mid 70s all year round if there is such a place.
Guess I just have to hit the lottery so I can afford a house in both areas
Sounds like so much fun. Hubby and I are masters of road trips. He likes to drive and I enjoy reading or crochet/embroidery in the passenger seat. I'm trying to plan a trip to visit my sister in Virginia -- sometime after Labor Day.
Yummy. I rarely get oatmeal in a restaurant because it typically is sweet or served with fruit. I like savory oatmeal -- my favorite is oatmeal with spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes w/ some cheese. Basically, anything you'd put into an omelet is what I'd put in my oatmeal.clemencia2us wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 1:12 pm I was good today. Went to breakfast and had oatmeal. It was very good. I ate it all

- Laundry -- at least 2 loads
- Blanching and packaging purple hull peas for freezer
- Making salsa from ground cherries
- Shredding carrots for salads
- Grocery shopping
- Shopping for new "work" clothes
- Shopping for a new suitcase

if you're rich enough you can have duplicates or even triplicates at both houses if you wanted.
