Good morning beautiful people,

Finally a check in from Englewood, Colorado. Sunshine today so I will be walking to and exploring the downtown area of Englewood. I went yesterday but got absolutely drenched by some torrential rain, even though I had an umbrella and rain coat on. I spent some time hiding out in a Starbucks until the rain subsided a bit. Shoes are still wet! I actually didn’t see many of the shops but did find a thrift store and got some stationery. In the afternoon Dd1 and I went to the Tattered Cover bookstore and we drove around the university campus where she works as a professor. It’s very close to their house as they are almost in the city of Denver.

This afternoon my Dd1 and I are going together for our first ever facials. She wanted to pamper me and herself in some way. I am looking forward to that! Her BF is back to work and has a work related dinner this evening. Dd1 headed into work for some meetings and I expect her back for lunch. We are having leftover chickpea curry.

I think I will head off now and will apply plenty of sunscreen as the sun is intense, with Denver being a mile high city and all.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

I don’t know why but I am very stiff this morning. I need to make my pillow thinner. I haven’t tried the other one yet. I am very glad that I kept my current pillow. After laying on the new one for about 10 minutes I switched pillows.

I have called Comfort Care to arrange a ride to my Doctor’s appointment on July 31. This is with my primary care Dr. Next Wednesday I have labs.

I looked at H-E-B’s ad this week, only one item on special I will order the cantaloupe.

The pillow has been adjusted.

I also fixed the edging on a blanket that my modern machine messed up.

I have a zigzag attachment for my Singer Featherweight along with a buttonhole attachment. The only thing that I can’t do on the Featherweight is sew on buttons.

My zigzag attachment came with a total of 8 cams.

So I took a few hours to take DS1 to the Podiatrist. He has padding and an ace bandage on his broken foot. (Hairline fracture happened in December, found recently via MRI, got an injection of a mix of his cells and a healing compound. He is non-weight-bearing for 3 weeks). the Ace bandage came loose. Of course DDIL needed to visit a customer and get the DGSs off. I have the time and the lack of items on my schedule that I volunteered to take him. They re-wrapped him and put a self-adhering bandage on top of the ACE.

Yesterday I got my PTO for the week of my birthday approved. I want to go somewhere, even if for just a few days. I also want to drive. Flying seems like a nightmare right now. Currently top of my list is Cleveland. Never visited the city. Was in the area for a wrestling tournament, but only saw the inside of a gym.

So that is all I have.

Have a great day,
Maggie
wow - I am surprised he wasn't in pain before. I had a small fracture in my foot and boy I could not put any weight on it. The pain didn't stop until I had it wrapped up. Then I was in a soft cast until the swelling went down and then in a regular walking cast.

I was good today. Went to breakfast and had oatmeal. It was very good. I ate it all

Lately I have been having issues finishing my food - the regular types like burgers and tacos. No more of that for me I guess.

We went to the cemetery to see the grave. Flowers still look good. The rain helped.

Now to do the regular day stuff.

Will be traveling to Houston on Sunday to my Sister in law's brothers viewing. She is a wonderful person and so helpful with our family issues. We have to support her.

Good morning,
We are in the midst of a terrible week long heat wave complete with triple digit temperatures. We are hunkering down.

Things are jumping a few miles south of us. A casino was finally finished and the tribe surprised us with an opening date way ahead of schedule so people are flocking over there. I want to eventually check it out but will wait until later in the year when the weather is cooler and the madness has subsided. The one big positive I see so far is there has been a lot of emphasis on the foodie experience and very little on the gambling. I am hopeful the casino will be more of a foodie mecca. Seventeen eateries are opening up with more to come. I hope the casino is far enough away that it does not hurt the small mom and pop restaurants.

DS is still going through the workers comp process. Tomorrow he is scheduled for an MRI so I will be driving him to that. Then possibly a Costco stop to at least gas up the van.

I finished watching "Stranger Things" o Netflix last week and have also been watching "Virgin River". I am halfway through that series. It's different from what I usually watch (not sci-fi) but a relaxing series to watch on these hot summer days.

I have not found any work that interests me. Most of the jobs listed are for Pre-K which I do not want to do again unless its for very short term subbing. Same with yard duty. For some reason all the "subbing" jobs appear to be long term and I am trying to avoid that. Plus it just is not safe for me to be outside i this weather. Maybe a few months down the road there will be some short term gigs.

I really need to get in gear and start doing surveys again to help offset the loss of income coupled with inflation.
