Quilter51 wrote: Thu Aug 18, 2022 11:52 am Well I was a complete frugal fail today - this week.

My sink has either four or five fridge saver dishes and a small casserole to be washed as well as the slow cooker that I was just eating out of from the fridge. Sigh. Must do better, even if I buy more small sizes and individual things. and freeze faster. Sheesh.

In other news, today I received notice that my student loan payment will restart. Joy of joys.

While I'm here, does anyone else Cynbalta for neuropathy or arthirtis. My doctor says this works better than gabba and requires minimal weaning if I am not happy.

time to do a little future planning and perhaps some surveys. Walmart had only one substitution, one kind of colgate for another so I'm not complaining and can menu plan.
After my chemo ended, and I was left with severe nerve & muscle pain, my Drs started me on gabapentin. It worked Really Well with no trace of the pain, but it also turned my skin maroon with huge blister-like welts. Eww! Then I tried Lyrica, which works MUCH better w/o any noticable side effects, but I do still feel slight reminders of where that nerve and muscle pain located--last year, I tried to go off Lyrica and only made it 3 days before I was in agony. I'm glad to know that Cymbalta could be another alternative if anything happens to cause my body to reject Lyrica.

Oh I hear you there.

Now oldest DS will be 20 in October, and he's in Bolivia on his Church mission and loving it!:)

Good afternoon!

Sunny and 81 at the moment.

Back from my appointment with the specialist. Ended up with a cortisone shot in my hip ... after everything else going on with the arthritis, turns out I still had bursitis! At the moment, the hip is feeling pretty good, but trying to take it easy today, especially since my lower back is still fussy.

So, continuing with PT for a few more weeks, if that doesn't work, then it's time to talk about injections.

Gayle, nice to see you! I, too, can't believe your DS2 is now 18!
Mackie, glad to hear there's some progress with the pups ... poor things. And poor you and DH with all that cleanup.
Jackie, you are a good mom! Can you come clean out my fridge? ;)

Gayle,

Good to hear from you. Make the hat for the friend you are unsure if you want to give it to. Then you will have it. And if and when the mood strikes to give if, you will have it.

It sounds like you have been able to indulge in your hobbies; have some "Gayle Time". I am so glad when the kids are young, it is all about them.

Went to my friend's memorial service today. Graveside..all outdoors. Short but very nice.
DH had some skin cancer surgery yesterday..so he stayed home and rested. One spot was on his lower eyelid. A rough place. First surgeon was MOHS..so one layer at a time. Then off to a plastic surgeon to close that up. He is doing well.
Tired today. The surgeons are an hour and a half from here..and then I couldn't go in either place..so..all day sitting in my car and then the hour and a half back home drive. DH had to be put out for the second surgeons repair..so he is still a little sleepy today. Fair skin..childhood outdoors..a lot of beach time.
WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!!!!! My public service announcement!

Salut mes amis!

We are off the boil water advisory as of late yesterday afternoon. I actually had some left over boiled water so I did very well! With the boiled water I was able to fill the ice machine, the espresso machine and have enough water to drink and any other uses. I was able to have my iced coffee too!

Jay and I went to the soup kitchen for lunch yesterday. I got two loaves of white bread and some cheese sticks. Jay got a big container of Croissants! We had a lovely lunch of creamed salmon, macaroni salad, new potatoes that had been baked and soup. It was really quite good. I also picked-up, on our way out, some cucumbers. As we got in the car Jay said, "Here! You take the Croissants as I got a big package yesterday." So, I lucked out and got some Croissants too! Going to throw the bread in the freezer.

I got Zoe's creamy cucumber salad recipe and made the cucumbers up into that just before I went to bed. I had them with lunch today. So fresh and SO GOOD!!

Tonight, Zoe, the littles and I are going to a free country music concert outside at our Riverbank Discovery Center's Stage. I asked if they'd like to go to me and it turns out that the award winning performer is a fellow she went to high school with so many years ago! He was three years older than her. We are looking forward to a good time. It was thought it might rain but it looks like we are out of the woods and it should be a lovely evening even if we don't stay for the whole show.

Dayton and Emmitt (my littles!) aren't so little anymore! Every year is going by too fast for me! Dayton goes into fourth grade this year and Emmitt goes into Second Grade. They start School on the 7th of September. I hope to see them a few times before that.

A university friend and his wife have asked me to look after their two doggies next Monday and Tuesday. This will be a first meeting for the doggies and me. I've seen lots of their photos on facebook so I think I can differentiate Heffelump from Woozle. I sure hope I can!! THEN! This morning, Franki Boi's Mom asked if I'd be available next Wednesday to look after my favorite little guy! BOY AM I EVER!! This would be my first time at their new house. I am just waiting to hear back from Kendall about time and what not. Looks like it's going to be a fun week for me!! I just LOVE my doggies and Franki's Cat, Cocoa!!

I'm taking it easy this afternoon so I don't over do the back stuff. Sitting on benches for the concert is iffy but I should be able to last if I don't twinge it out this afternoon.

That's the skinny from around here!!

MJ
Hope has a good imagination.
