Daily Check-in January 24, 2023

Post by LogicsHere »

Good morning all.

It's going to be a partly cloudy day today with a high in the low 40s. I need to go out and get bananas . . . I"m going to start looking like one I eat so many.

Morning routine is done although I may try to fit in some additional exercising. I've been putzing around with my menu plan for these last few days; not exactly happy with it but it will have to do.

I was thinking about trying to make rolls today. I've found a no knead recipe quite some time ago an thought that it might be fun to at least try it.

I finally decided on scrambled eggs and bacon for tonight.

Well that's all for now. Have a great day.

Got up at 7 this morning after being up from 2-4 . Jim just picked up one of the dogs,Harley, to get his names clipped and his rabies shot. He hates to go, but his nails grow in a odd way that we can’t do them anymore. The other 2 we can cut .the rest of the day have no idea what I will get into. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning fellow frugalites,

Slept in a little bit and woke up to it being -3 C (26F) with a windchill of -7C (19F), so temperature wise not bad at all. Opened the drapes to snow falling again. We are getting quite the accumulation supposedly over the next few days.

I have a fairly decent length list today, and hope to get through it fairly quickly. I would like to finish my top early this afternoon. I will then pull out the dresses and pick one to do. Since both are new I will have to make sure to keep my sewing encyclopedia beside me, and take my time. The taking my time part can be difficult for me as I love to finish something within a day or two. Something tells me these dresses will take a bit longer. Oh well.

Fairly long list of household tasks today. I need to fold the clothes from the lines downstairs, iron, mend, clean the desk area, put away the dishes, makeup the monthly menu for February, extra cleaning (decided to do the inside of the cupboards and then when I get more Murphy's Oil Soap do the outsides), sweep the floors, bring the garbage bin back from the curb, and perhaps get some more Christmas baking containers washed and put away. Some of those tasks only take a few minutes, but I will have to get started soon if I want lots of sewing time.

Got my appointment planned for the specialist and will be staying with youngest for a couple of nights. My appointment is for late on Thursday (couldn't get Friday as they are closed now for some reason), and since he has Friday off will stay in the city and do a bit of shopping. I am thinking of going to Value Village this time around, just to see what they have. One of the ladies whose blog I follow goes to this one all the time and finds lots of crafting things. She seems to come home with lots of yarn every time she goes. Here I am lucky to find anything at all that I can use. I would also like to visit the flower conservatory if it is open. It would be nice to see a bit of green when all else is white.

Supper tonight is going to be some leftover stew. I really am tempted to make biscuits to go along. But if I use the oven I would like to get it full and I still have a bit of baking from Christmas to get through. Could use the toaster oven, but I have a feeling I won't want to make two or more trays. We will see....Perhaps I could make a small batch of dumplings????

Today I am grateful that my finger isn't locking up so badly today.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Up early again - pups gotta go.

It is raining. I was surprised they all went outside. It was barely sprinkling at the time, but some will refuse to step out if there is water. Guess they really had to go.

It was cold yesterday and now it doesn't feel so bad. I was starting to sweat in this fleece top. Had to take off my socks and slippers and put on my flip flops. Cooling off my feet, cools me down.

Had my coffee already. Lets see how this day goes and if it will continue to rain. We do need it

Have a great day.

Bonne matin toute le monde!

I got up a little after 6 am. I thought I'd doze in my recliner for a bit but nope! Got to watching the show, "Mayday," and I always enjoy the science behind it. Always so interesting to me.

I had some Greek yogurt for breakfast and am just finishing up my second cup of espresso. Haven't determined lunch or supper yet. I kinda have it worked out but it depends on what else I do this morning.

I am going to get dressed and leave for the hair school at 10 am. I desperately need a haircut. I've been kidding myself in thinking that I can hide it with a bandana head band! NOPE! It is only $12.00 but I usually leave a $5.00 for the student and they always do such a great job there. The owner/instructor is familiar with my wonky hair (thin and baby fine on top and thicker baby fine at the back with nice wave). So she usually gives them some instructions and as with all haircuts does the final approvals. I never leave feeling badly about a haircut. That's really good for $17.00!

I have to deliver my income statement and a yearly income review to the Provincial Building today. I haven't gotten my monthly financial report paper so I will have to go in and get one to fill out. I also want to go back to Dollar Tree and get two gift bags for Dayton and Zoe's Birthday presents. Today, is Zoe's birthday, 42!! I am 18 years older than her and 50 older than Dayton! I haven't gotten Zoe's present yet. I have been racking my brain but nothing has come up. I am going to go to Winners, which is one of her favorite stores and see what they have that might be very nice for her. If not? I might have to go with a gift card and maybe some treats for her.

Depending on when I get the stuff done for the haircut and the Provincial Building, I might get to lunch at the Soup Kitchen and if not? I will use a few dollars off of my birthday gift certificate for Taco Tuesday and Taco Time (one of my favorite places!). Winners and the Dollar Tree are after lunch activities.

That's the skinny from around here for now!!

Jackie, did you have an accident with another finger or is this the one that was badly cut a while back?

Good morning, frugal friends. I slept better last night and feel better today. Our old Ollie Cat is in my lap making biscuits on my fluffy robe. He and Dora Kitty had their morning exercise, which is a cross between tai chi and professional wrestling, so there's cat hair all over the living room floor.

Today's laundry day and grocery list day. Might do some dusting. Tomorrow I have an appointment with an allergy clinic for testing regarding my childhood penicillin allergy, which apparently can go away. I said fine, just be sure to not kill me while doing this. :-D

It's slightly overcast today. Have not checked the forecast to see if the threat of snow is still out there.

Hope you all have a safe and peaceful day.
