Now, not only Covid, but her health, DH's health, so I don't see that happening for me for a long time.

Do the trips, have a great time.

Yes - those trips were fun. My sisters and I would go with a lady that led local trips and also out of state trips.

I did do a couple of casino trips, but mostly to just get away and go enjoy their buffets!!

I was married to either the twin or triplet of this guy - my ex believed that debt was "leveraging" $. This from a man who couldn't keep a checking account out of the red while he was 'leveraging' to buy things no one needed. Sure glad he's not my problem anymore :D

Regarding Dave Ramsey - it's too bad that he turned out to be so questionable in so many ways - personally and professionally; his basic, bare-bones "get out of debt" and "stay out of debt" early messages were good.

Debt makes me crazy. We pay any charge card bills in full every month. We have a car payment for DH's truck. My car is paid for. When my truck started to have problems..I traded it in for a Prius. I had saved up so with the trade in, I had enough to pay for it. Our house has been paid for for decades.
My parents and DH's mother were very responsible with money.
I am happy to sat that our son and dil are very good with money.

We need a support group, lol. My ex had a stack of credit cards about 4 inches tall, held together with one of those big huge rubber bands - I PROMISE you this is 100% the truth - and he had a big chart with all the account numbers and balances and what balance he moved to where - and when the balance transfer offer expired - and it was pure INSANITY.

In our case, he was giving all our money away (and not to the right people or places) because "the Lord told him to" - and we were living on credit. He was also paying all the bills of his second son from his first marriage - including their HOUSE - and did I mention we were LIVING on CREDIT???

He started opening credit cards in my name - he would make me get on the phone with people and open them - I think there were 4 when I said NEVER AGAIN - NO MORE. As part of our divorce settlement he had to pay those off in full and the accounts were closed (yes I know that made my credit score go down, I did not care).

Also, I "got nothing" but I was LUCKY to "get nothing" because he got ALL the debt - about $200,000 of it. Walking away with "nothing" was absolutely my pleasure!!!

He once told me that when his former brother-in-law introduced him to credit cards, it was "the best thing that every happened to him." Like you said, I'm glad it isn't my problem anymore!!!
