Afternoon, everybody. I’ve been out and about with DH this afternoon. I’d asked him to go with me to take a box to the UPS store for a return, so he could take it in for me. After that was finished, I drove us to Sonic and we each got a hamburger and tots. I’m such a cheap date. (Though actually, since I was driving I guess HE’S the cheap date.) Then it was back home. I had half my burger and tots for lunch and will have the rest later. When we got home, I had another pair of Skechers that had been delivered today, and they fit much better than the ones I returned (although the heels are still a bit wide) – and they were $15 cheaper (on clearance), so win/win.

Well, my Tigers lost their game last night, so no more March Madness for us. It was heartbreaking, to say the least. There have been some big upsets this year, so who knows who’ll be left standing in the end. It’s been a fun year. I always feel a bit lost when both football and basketball seasons end. BUT, Memphis now has a USFL team – the Memphis Showboats – and those games start in April. So I have that to look forward to.

It's clear and sunny today, but really chilly. It’s 46° right now, but it feels colder with the wind. I was glad to be back inside. This used to be my favorite sort of weather, but not so much anymore. I seem to stay cold.

Jackie, after you mentioned The Terror the other day, it made me realize something. I’d started watching it a long time ago and stopped after only a few episodes. I have a hard time sometimes with Irish/British/Scottish accents, especially if they speak quickly. Anyway, I found it on Hulu and turned on the captions, and am now in the midst of it. At some point I will start up Apple TV again, long enough to watch the new season of Ted Lasso and a few other things that look good. Then I’ll cancel again.

MJ, congrats on getting a new dog sitting gig! I have always dreamed of living in a converted church. I’ve seen a few on some of the house hunting/renovation shows and I always fall in love with them.

Not much else going on around here. My hands are still like ice, so I think I’m going to sit on them for a few minutes, lol. Owned, I’m still hoping your dog comes home, somehow.

Patty, I have been wanting to tell you - my parents have been watching Call the Midwife on PBS and they are really enjoying it.

My ex-husband used to tease me about being a cheap date - fill up the motorcycle with gas (about $2.50 back then) and make a stop for a cup of coffee (about 1 dollar back then).

I hope your hands got warm!

HappyDaze, you mentioned your sister had a penchant for gambling, and binge eating hits the same reward center in the brain. The girl has some issues. I am glad, though, that you had a nice visit with your folks.

Although it's cold, I had to wash the dogs. They were truly stinky and Goldie has a vet visit tomorrow. I went as fast as possible and bundled them up in towels so they dried quickly. Rosie actually likes her bath once we get going: I use the sprayer and very warm water to give her hips and shoulders a long massage to ease her arthritis. She got a dose of CBD oil as soon as we were done and I heated up their food, so they are both snoozing, warm inside and out.

Then I had a hot shower and bundled up in warm clothes. Decided not to make pizza tonight but got the breadmaker going on a loaf of honey wheat bread. The recipe called for two tablespoons of wheat cereal, which I don't have, so subbed an equal amount of golden ground flaxseed. It should be good.

An egg sandwich is sounding good for supper. I think the guys sneaked out and ate at Sonic already.

Bev - the Barkimal - that was so funny!!!

And Patty - mmm - tater tots. I had some two nights ago. I prefer them to fries. I got some onion rings the other day - no longer on my menu. Not good for me. And I so loved them.

Now I am watching Hill Street Blues. I think I could be going on a nostalgia binge because I am thinking of watching Doogie Howser after this. LOL.

Update

It got fairly warm today (but still the wind is pretty cold), the snow has started melting once again. I checked the long range forecast and while there is supposed to be snow the day before our travel to see my specialist, the day we go is supposed to be fairly decent. Keeping my fingers crossed that turns out to be true. Once I get my results, if good we will be planning our cruise.

So looking forward to some time in a cabin this summer. Peace and quiet, hiking (short ones cause we are getting old) and because we will be there longer than usual perhaps some trips out of the park to see sights in the various towns around. I may even convince Hubby to take me to some fabric stores and craft stores.

I have two patterns left to do on the sweater and then I can sew it together. I am hoping to do so tomorrow, and perhaps get a smaller task done as well. I think I might finish off the labels in the sewing/craft room.

Hubby is watching the World Curling and is very happy that Canada won their first game. He says the team to beat is Switzerland.

I faced the cold wind and went for two short walks, the fresh air helps me focus and gives me a bit of a break from knitting or working. Something I need or my back would be giving me grief from sitting too long (knitting) or bending (working). So looking forward to longer walks.
