Daily Check-in March 19, 2023

Post by LogicsHere »

Good morning all.

It's going to be a rather chilly day here today with the temperature not going above the mid to high 30s, but then it's expected to warm up and be in the 50s for about 5 or so days. It will be sunny, though, so that's a good thing.

Not much going on today. I have my Sunday chat with my neighbor and I also signed up for a brain games session this afternoon through a free program that was offered by NY State around the time the pandemic hit.

I went with corned beef for dinner last night instead of the pancakes, but it will definitely be apple pancakes for tonight.

Well that's all for now. Have a good day.

Good morning fellow frugalites,

It is a bit warmer this morning, which means I could get out for a bit of a walk at some point this morning. I don't know if we will attend in person Mass this morning as Father has posted Mass for today will take 1 hour 30 minutes and there is no way my back will take sitting that long in a hard pew. I need to make a pillow to take with me really soon. We will also be sitting for almost that long tomorrow at the funeral. Two days of hard pew sitting just might do me in. Father has told me numerous times to bring a pillow.....

I am going to get a few of the usual Monday chores done today as most of tomorrow we will be gone. I want to get the hanging laundry up, tidy the bedrooms, and perhaps a couple of the smaller tasks. Laundry is the important one as it takes almost all day to do. I will also bake a loaf of bread, but since my bread machine does all the work except for adding ingredients I can set it and forget it until the bread is done.

Other small tasks are to make the household task list up, take out the recycle, walk and pick up the sympathy card (glad I waited until today it is much nicer and it can be my longer walk).

I finished knitting the sweater last night so today or this evening I will put it all together. Hopefully getting a picture of it and putting it on my blog. I may start the mittens for eldest son's school at some point. I have pulled more bits and bobs of yarn and orphan skeins so need to get those out of the bags and off the floor by my chair. I seem to be getting quite a few projects piled up there.

Supper tonight will be roast pork and I think I will do roasted veggies with it. I have a few things in the crisper that need to be used up before they spoil.

Today I am grateful that the weather forecast is still showing nice weather for my trip to the specialist.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Good morning all

Up early again - well early for me. I slept pretty good last night, so not sleepy at all. Sparrow had to go out so they all went. They are all asleep.

Ugh - tried to make coffee and when I poured the milk - it was bad. All curdled - yukky way to start the day.

Other than that, looks like it will be a very nice day. Rain has stopped and the sun is breaking through the clouds.

Again I didn't know what day it was. Could have sworn it was Monday. My days are all off. Thinking will have bacon and eggs for breakfast!

Have a great day all.

A very quiet morning here.

The shower curtain hook opened again. Because it was upside down.

I have gotten lots of wonderful comments on my Tiny Beverly.

I plan on cooking a pork rib eye roast today. I hope I get lots of dinners from this roast.

I am so glad that I have 3 sizes of roasting pans.

My trial pot holder came out great. Now to sew the rest. There are 8 more to go.

Good Morning,

Home from Mass, Jackie, our reading was long enough that father said "Anyone who needs to sit may."Our weather is similar to Logics'. Sunny but cold, back up to the 50s tomorrow.

Not sure what I will do today. Plenty is waiting for me.

Have a great day,
Maggie

Good morning! So nice to grab a second cup of coffee and read your check-ins, Logics, Penny, Jackie. It's the second best thing to sitting in person with a friend over a cup of coffee.

The dogs let me sleep till a bit after 7:30 and it was GREAT because I was asleep before 9:30 - so other than some weird work dreams, I had a good sleep.

Breakfast was a tomato and avocado sandwich on toast - OH. SO. GOOD. I had to toast the bread in a pan - my latest dollar store toaster died. I went right on Amazon and ordered a good toaster and a pretty cover for it (matches my kitchen) - all paid for with gift card! I had intended all my gift card to be for grocery items - but I'll take a free toaster and pretty cover - at no out of pocket cost!

I have to go to Family Dollar today for hair care stuff. I colored and cut my hair Friday evening and I need some good styling products - anti-frizz spray (lots of static electricity in this cold, dry house) and a good styling balm. It is weird how excited I get about getting some new hair stuff - it's the little things, you know?

I am off to get dressed and brave the cold. Happy Sunday to all!!
