Daily Check in April 6, 2016

Post by mbrudnic »

Good Morning Frugals,
Just finished my workout. Cooling off while DS showers. Mom texted last night that they are willing to visit Boston with us in June. So i need to start some research and reservation making.

I may run to the grocery for some fresh produce. Cash is a little short, but it looks like we will make it until Friday's payday. I paid the balance on DS's Australia trip. Now I need to file my taxes. Ugh. I need to file Federal before I can do State online.

I guess I need to figure out the rest of dinner too.

Have a great day,
Maggie

Hello all.

Can't believe the cold weather we've been having the last couple of weeks especially after the warm weather we had in March . . . I really want to start getting outside.

Had dinner with two former co-workers last night. It was fun seeing them again. One was on vacation with his wife and the other works for the City of NY now. I learned that the only remaining member of the team I worked with outside of the boss, also left. It's too bad to see a company that once was such a pleasure to work for go so far in the opposite direction.

Went for a follow-up doctor's appt. yesterday. Was going to cancel because I knew I wasn't prepared, but went anyway. It turned out just as I had expected. I really have to start making lifestyle changes and the sooner the better. She did tell me to start weaning my way off one of my prescriptions which is a good thing. Not only is it the most expensive of the three I take, it's also gotten some not so good press lately.

Well, I'm going to go start my day, so have a good one all.

Good morning everyone.

I'm planning a quiet day a home. My plan is to take all my slacks out of the closet, try them all on and declutter the ones that don't fit or don't look good. Thinking about a pair I haven't worn in awhile has prompted me to go through my closet. I'm also planning to go through my pj drawer today. Since buying a new pair of pjs a couple weeks ago, my pj drawer is too full.

Of course I'll be buying more "stuff" today because tonight is one of my favorite rummage sales and tomorrow morning is another favorite sale. I'm going to try to be very selective. I'm mainly looking for a new floor lamp for mom's house.

I'm still waiting for the electrician to call about mom's house so that may interrupt my day.

Yesterday after getting my new car battery, mom and I went to Aldi. Then after lunch I cut mom's back yard and cleaned up all the oak stuff on the sides of the driveway.

Have a good day.

My new pillow is wonderful, I am sleeping well so far it has only been 2 nights.

I started knitting the Yarnover Truck kit, I ordered the kit. It is on the Yarnover Truck web site. I found I couldn’t knit comfortably using the yarn in the kit, parts of the truck is knit flat. So I started over using Palette yarn, now it is going well no more discomfort. I am sure I will be able to use this yarn for a different project.

I have continued my decluttering. I have piled more books into the “give away” pile. I have about 20 books in the pile now. I have emptied the 2 shelves behind the doors in the second bookcase.

Good morning all,

Slept like a brick last night....and I needed to. So good on me. I woke up to rain, but temp is up, typical spring weather? We are supposed to get up to 40 mile per hour winds also.
Today I want to transplant seedlings into their own little pots. Need to fill the containers and let the soil come to room temp. It is fiddly work but needs done. After that will do floors as I am messy and know the outcome before I even start ;)
Really wish I could fill outside baskets but I know the cold weather is not done with us yet. :? I really need to straighten the storage shed that I keep lawn furniture and tillers in but need to wait as I know myself well enough to know I will want to place lawn furniture and it is too windy, it will blow away.
I may chance putting cleaning rags and rugs on the line...maybe they will dry before night fall.
off to sort and fill pots.
Have a great day all,
JCKitty

Good morning. It is a cold wet day. Temp is 57 but feels like 47 F. Not much going on just puttering with paperwork.. It never ends does it!

Yesterday I was re-evaluated for my annual in home care by the Senior health nurse. I have been approved for continued in home care which is a relief. Do not know what I would do without her help.

I continue to have severe insomnia and will be seeing a specialist April 11. I am so tired from the lack of sleep. I have been know to stay awake for 48 hours and once it was 72 even with medication. Have a good day everyone. Janet Alliesmama
