She had said that she had been trying to lose weight so I asked her if she'd like to join me in my daily (weather permitting) walk.

Not only did she say NO, she said that she doesn't do anything that has even the slightest possibility of sweating... !!!

Oh, OK...
ok.. at least you tried..

Hello frugals -
Happy Friday! Mackie- sure hope they can help you feel better with those headaches. Am I showing my age when I say that I remember a time you could get in to see a doctor right away if you were having problems? Hubs went today for ongoing sinus problems and they are referring him to a specialist. Called & said they made the appt for June 18th. Uh - ok - 3 months no problem - he just won't breathe well until them.

Today has just been a piddle day - straightened my bath and bedroom, stripped the sheets and washed them. Then loaded the DW and set off - my niece called and then I fixed supper and the day is over. Time sure flies.

I am trying to re-do my storage and get rid of some things. Janet - I packed up a bunch of VCR tapes for you today. Will contact you soon about a time to bring it down. When that pie safe is empty, I am going to use it for sewing storage. That will empty my corner cupboard in the living room and I can use it for dishes. I need more room for dishes. So baby steps on the organizing. As I have said before, I am no longer hung up on that completion thing - ha!

Dinner tonight was the rest of the pulled pork. I made some pork gravy and made hot pork sandwiches with mashed potatoes and green beans. That finished up the pulled pork I made from the Sam's pork loin. I think I will do that again - you can pull it out and have easy quick meals in a short time. I think tomorrow I will make chicken stew - that sounds good for a rainy stormy day.

Well off to clean up the kitchen and settle in for the evening. Have a nice night all.

Not necessary Janet. My cousin had hip surgery and I am going to bring her some food and a meal or two for my great niece with the new baby - so I will be coming down there anyway. It will be at least a week or two.

Update

The storm seems to be breaking up. We do have some lovely drifts though and according to the weather guys/gals we are due for more snow before this is over.

Got to get supper on the table. Talk to you all later.

Good evening everyone,

Today was my Retirement Explorer day and a field trip to our local museum was arranged. It was quite enjoyable as we had guided tour and it gave me the opportunity to play tourist in our own home town. It had been many, many years since I had last gone. It was when oldest dd was about 8. The museum was actually in a different location (the old police station) so it took a bit of doing finding it. The previous location is now a Sports Hall of Fame. However the museum is not in the greatest area of the city and I witnessed a man being arrested and handcuffed! That is something I have never witnessed in person before, only watched on tv.

All meals were from home and aside from my afternoon excursion everything else was pretty routine. I went for a long walk for exercise. Jackie so far the snow has missed us. We're a little north for all the Nor'Easters that have been pounding the U.S. Our temperatures are still remaining stubbornly cold but the snow is very slowly melting as it does reach freezing point around mid afternoon. I made a new investment on rainboots as my previous pair cracked and leak. I wore the rainboots when I went for my walk as there are some areas completely covered by water. I tested them out in some pretty deep puddles and they kept my feet dry. The boots are also nice and comfortable.

Younger dd is out with a friend this evening but said she'll be back later this evening. I fed her kitty for her. I think they are planning to go to a new store which has opened.
