I woke up very early this morning. For some reason the joints in my hands really hurt.

I have packed most of what I know I will need at my daughter’s. Most important of course are my medications. I packed those yesterday in my back pack as they can’t stay in the car this time of year.

I have a load of dish towels in the dryer. I only have the one load of wash today. It will be finished before we leave for the oral Surgeon this morning. Elizabeth said

I always take my pillow to my daughter’s as the pillows on the guest bed are rocks. Not really but they sure feel like it.

Good morning fellow frugalites

Sunny and warm again today, in fact it is supposed to get really warm and the UV index is high as well. Hubby is going to get me dirt after our trip to see the financial planner this morning. I hope to get a few more planters made up and I think Hubby would like to finish off the garden today. I am being very careful and only doing a few planters a day. Yesterday it was the two long ones, my herbs (except for oregano which I couldn't find and mint that will go in it's own box) as well as coleus were planted. Today I would like to get the begonias and fuchsia into their containers and if I am lucky the mint into it's. Slowly, slowly. Just as long as I am done by Thursday (or at least close to being done) when the rains come.

The rest of the day will be spent doing the regular household tasks on the to do list for today. I will be stripping both beds and hopefully getting both remade (if not youngest DS's bed will just have to wait a day or two).

Then of course there are my crafty projects. I plan on winding a few skeins of yarn, doing a bit of knitting and perhaps working on the embroidered runner I started a bit ago.

Our supper tonight will be leftover pork roast made into a stir fry. I get to use up bits and bobs from the veggie crisper and make something tasty. It will be served over rice made in my instant pot. I made potatoes in it last night and they mashed perfectly. I hope to use this appliance a great deal this summer. That and the BBQ should help keep electric costs down.

Frugally speaking the same things as usual will be occurring here. Really nothing new I tried has worked (well it might have worked if I could get Hubby on board). I may have to try and sneak in another meatless meal every so often. Hubby is kind of on board with that as he has now experienced how high meat has become over the past years.

One morning while taking my early morning constitutional I heard clucking. Sounded like chickens so I am on a mission the last few days when taking my walk to see if I can find them. Hubby says there was a game bird introduced here that makes that noise as well. He says that it wasn't totally successful, but a few could have mated and managed to get out into a new area.

Well since I told you what we are having for supper already, and I finished my coffee it is time to get on with my day. Walk first and then I will start my Tuesday routine.

Today I am grateful that even though I can only plant a few things as a time, I can at least do so by myself (well so far at any rate).

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Good morning all,
Up and too busy already this morning. I already have the freezer defrosted, cleaned and put back together. Obviously my OCD is kicked into high gear.... :? Once I decide to do a chore I can't stop thinking about it until it is done. I spend more time dithering about something than getting it done.

I have plenty to do today, hope my energy level keeps up. ;)
We had a good rain early this AM, the chicken pen is muddy, but the hens don't care. They are out, fed and seem content.

Supper for dad will be hamburger steak, fried potatoes and a veg...watermelon on the side. he is hitting the watermelon hard.... :)

Need to work on a cabinet sometime today, needs stripped out ,cleaned and put back together. Because it is wet outside I will work inside for the most part.
Off to see what I can get into....good or bad.
Have a great, safe and appreciative day all,
JCKitty

Back home after a call from the fence company. They said they needed to reschedule because they got behind with yesterday’s rain and are concerned about the rest of the week - even though the sun is shining right now. Frustrating. So it will likely be next week. They wanted to do it this weekend but I told them I’d be away and I definitely want to be there. I know my job is small for them.

So now to decide what to do the rest of the day.

Hey All

Jackie, have you tried growing herbs from seed ? We have had success with everything other than dill and basil. The oregano we have is grown in a large trough about 6ft long alongside rosemary, mint and sage. It comes back every year. Its about 2ft square right now, lovely thick growth.

Haven't planted the plants I got this weekend either, I am hardening them off as the weather has been so changeable. I want to get some flats of petunias or impatiens in pinks , pale purples or whites then I will be DONE ;) The only new planter I have this year is the tin that had lemon panettone in it that I got from COSTCO.

PRETTIEST TIN EVER.........in pale lemon and green with a tough of blue.

I need to put in for my extra hours this month, only about 8 hours but it all adds up.

More Tom stuff but I have lost the will to live over most if it, forked out another £200 as you do...........

This weekend will be very low key cost wise, we'll do a National Trust property if the weather is good to get out and about but otherwise No Spend, we are haemmoraging cash ........oh and THAT wedding will be on.

Frankly going off Meghan at the moment, wot is up with her dad, "I'll give her away" Wait I won't give her away "

Pillock. Ridiculous drama. I wish Harry had eloped. I love Harry, she better not do him wrong............just sayin'.

The allotment is looking good. Hoping DH health keeps up too as he and another allotmenteer have taken on another plot between them. DH has put some furniture up there as well, turning it into a more social space........we have some homemade Adirondack style chairs............made from old pallets would you believe. We need a little table and ( given the British weather ) a stripey windbreak. Our secondhand shed needs stuff grown all over it to make it look better.........its a metal one so very hardwearing and all but UGLY. Climbing roses ? Clematis ? Really Big Weeds ?????

Anyway, hair still thinning quite badly which will prob drive me to the doctor which I need to do re all the stress this hassle has generated. I need to function properly for the family, often its said being a carer makes you ..(list of positive personality traits ) No it doesn't, it makes you a Bitter and Twisted Old Bag  In fact if I ever had a Twitter handle, that would be it.

Can't be bothered to cook, DH is babysitting , hope they fed him !
