Daily Check-in February 14, 2019

Post by alliesmama4 »

Happy Valentine's Day!

I cannot sleep so decided to get up and do something productive. I am a diabetic and my feet feel like they are on fire.. probably too many carbs from my Wendy's lunch yesterday.

Not much planned today other than some cooking.

Have a lovely Valentine's Day everyone.

Good Morning,

I did not end up babysitting last night. The grandson's were both sick. My home county has a water shortage in some parts and boil advisory going on. Ugh. No shortage issues in my area.

Have a great day,

Good morning fellow frugalites,

No real surprise here this morning. We were warned not to expect the warm up to last very long and it didn't. While the actual temperature isn't bad the feels like temperature is back down to -40 C. I really do believe this is the coldest February in over a 100 years here.

Since it is so cold I will be waiting a bit before heading out to do errands. May as well let the sun comes out and it at least seems to warm up a bit.

Frugally speaking all errands today will be done in one fell swoop this saves wear and tear on the vehicle as well as gas. I had thought about checking out a second grocery store, but this will have to wait for better weather (the second grocery store is just down the road a bit further from Walmart so just a tiny bit out of the way). My grocery list is made and I will be following it (though there are a few items on sale that are tempting me), my usual frugal walking for exercise will be happening, and I will be using things up as much as is possible here at home. Pretty much the regular frugal happenings. I do hope to get a pie made at some point today for our supper tonight, but if I don't I am sure Hubby will forgive me.

I finished the skirt yesterday but doubt I will get the matching tunic top done today. It depends on when I get out the door shopping and when I get home. If I feel that I must leave it I will do some hand quilting or knit on my cardi instead. After all getting either one worked on makes me that much closer to finishing a couple more of my goals this month.

With the weather being the way it is I don't know if youngest DS and the grandcat will be home or not. I think I will get ready for his arrival anyway, the temperatures are supposed to rise and if he leaves Saturday morning he would be traveling in the daylight hours which is a great deal safer.

Supper this evening will be leftovers. The leftovers though are from one of Hubby's favourite meals. I think I will add some raw veggies and dip, even though this casserole has lots of veggies in it.

Today I am grateful that I don't have to walk to get groceries.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Last night I knit 2 hearts to add to the one I knit a few days ago. I decided I would surprise a couple of my friends at the Valentine Luncheon today.

I will start mixing up cupcakes in a few minutes. The butter is softening right now. I am making the cupcakes from scratch.
