I'm struggling to stay awake today, not sure why I didn't sleep well last night, but I dozed rather than sleeping deeply. I napped on the couch for about an hour.

Today is my oldest Dbro & his wife's wedding Anniversary, 40 years!! ;) I was 4 when they married.

I spent the early part of the week in my hometown with my older 2 brothers, and with my stepMom at her house (about 40 miles away). I came home to the last of the baseball games (hurray no more freezing in the wind & rain) on Wednesday and Thursday nights, and to find that Hurkey-the-dog was gravely ill. I have been doing LOTS of dribbling unflavored Pedialyte & chicken broth down his throat 10ml at a time, or putting a few ice chips in his mouth. However, I think he's on the mend now.... he's been showing some of his old bounce as he walks, and he's pulling towards the cats when we take him outside. He's not eating, but perhaps he just needs to continue to sleep and I'll continue to dribble broth & pedialyte in his mouth.

I went with Dh to the Dr yesterday. He's been struggling with thrush, got it from the antibiotics given him for his UTI's & pneumonia in early May; so the Dr told him to basically eat a Paleo diet for a month. I envision our food bill climbing for the next 4 weeks, but we will all be better for eating more veg.

So tonight's dinner will be Chicken & Veg stirfry with corn chips for everyone else. I need to get going on washing & chopping veggies.

I need to plant 4 more rows of corn, then my garden will be OFFICIALLY all planted. I'm excited to see a few corn and bean plans popping up, and I'm praying that ALL of my corn & beans come up! Actually I've been praying that ALL of my veg plants grow & produce mightily well!

I need to get better at my part of the garden, and Pull Weeds! I'm determined to buy the heavy ground cover fabric that UBAOG sells for weed control in our county next year. My friend uses it, and says she only gets a few weeds around the edges, and next to the plants in the holes she makes.

We got some afternoon rain today, same thing yesterday. My weather app yesterday showed rain for next week; today it shows rain for today, then again starting Monday. I suppose we'll see when it comes.

Today I'm thankful for dog appearing to feel better, and for my little nap.

ETA: I just posted a zucchini crust Pizza recipe in the Recipe folder... its the Low Carb Keto Zucchini Pizza.
Gayle sorry to here that Hurley and your DH are both not well. Hope they both get better soon.

Congrats on getting your garden planted. I have not even tried here due to out bad weather.. I do not know how you do all the things that you do.

Thanks for the zucchini pizza crust recipe. I am always on the lookout for a new crust to make pizza. I do miss flour bases pizza crusts but a substitute is always better than nothing.

I know you have probably seen me post this before, but in case you haven't you can also slice the potatoes up, don't cook them till they get soft, I'd say about 4 minutes then use them to make Potato Au Gratin, a potato casserole, or hash browns.

I also, dice them and cook about the same length of time for potato salad, just don't put your condiments or dressing in it until you thaw and cook to the texture you like your potatoes when making fresh potato salad. I tried making potato salad and freezing it, but I didn't like the taste or texture. Now that I have my air fryer I am cutting them into french fries, coat them with a little olive oil and flash freeze them after I cook for a couple of minutes. When you remove as many as you want from the bag you can just put the rest right back in the freezer for another time. I love the mashed potato ones and I can take a couple of (muffin frozen mashed potatoes) load it up with cheese, sour cream, green onion and bacon, I can't tell the difference from using a baked potato out of the oven.

Your salad sounds wonderful, would you share the recipe? I love salads in the summertime.
Libby thank you for the tips on freezing potatoes in so many different ways.. I am looking forward to trying them when I get more freezer space.

Two of our three dogs were at the vet today, one for her check up and annual shots, and another for a dental cleaning. They both did really well. The vet was happy that our oldest dog, who has a progressive genetic form of blindness, has not lost much vision in the past two years and has not developed glaucoma, which happens with that form of blindness. The specialist who diagnosed her expected her to be fully blind by now. She might hold onto her vision a few more years.

I also took my single mom friend shopping a baby stroller this morning. She suffered a childbirth injury so severe that she has to have surgery for more extensive repair next month. Because of the injury, she finds it painful and difficult to carry the baby and walk, so the stroller was a necessity. Walmart had one for $50 suitable for a newborn and up to 50 pounds, and we got some diapers and household things as well.

So today was expensive, but money well spent. We had planned on going out to dinner to celebrate our vacation, but wound up getting take out Chinese food instead. The atmosphere around our table was a lot nicer than a noisy restaurant and I have leftovers for tomorrow.
Mackie good to hear your little fur baby is doing well with her eyesight... I hope it continues to stay stable. My brother had a Collie that went blind and yet she was able to get around on their farm without a problem.. She would go with my brother or his sons when they went out further around the farm but was pretty much on her own in the yard and did well.

I know what you mean.. I will hold him and tell him I wish you could tell me what is wrong. He has this way of pressing his head in further on your chest or shoulder like he understands. My Allie had a brain tumor. They gave her a year and a half to live but she lived for 7 years. She was on human chemotherapy.. She had good quality of life up until about a year before she died. She had heart failure, a stroke, and finally doggie dementia. However she never really acted sick. The Dr said she is a very sick little dog but she does not show it. I slept on the floor trying to comfort her the last three nights of her life since she would just wander around and around at night. Finally I thought you have to let her go..Heart breaking..They give you so much joy and happiness.

Teddi seems better. He still will not eat. I have tried rice, cheese, and a hard boiled egg The cheese and egg are two of his favorite things. He just sniffs and walks away. However he has been out to potty a couple of times and even though no bowel movement he does try but no mucus. I will mention it to the Dr. We just came in and he was somewhat frisky going in and out with me so that is good. The bad thing is a storm could blow in tonight. I see lightening to the north and then storms over the week-end and some could be sever. He freaks out with storms.. Poor little guy. Thanks everyone for your concern and kind thoughts.

You are more than welcome. I don't know if you like Honey Mustard Dressing, but I tried this recipe tonight as I had made myself some Chicken Patties yesterday. I was cutting one up to put on a Chicken Salad tonight and discovered I didn't have any of my honey mustard that they give me at Chick-fil a to put on it.

I found this recipe and it was delicious. I halved the recipe, it would have been to much for one person to use in a couple of weeks. I am posting in the recipes.
