Good morning. I went to bed early 11:30 PM and woke up at 1:30 AM and could not get back to sleep.. So finally decided to get up and get busy.. I am looking forward to my roofing contractor putting a new roof on today. I really feel sorry for the men. We are going to have a heat index of ( 100 F) (37 C) or more. Poor little Teddi will be a basket case.. Noises out of the ordinary frighten him. I am going to camp out in my basement. I have a small TV in the family room area and hopefully the distance from the roof and the TV will muffle the sounds.

Have a good and frugal day everyone.

Janet, I am happy you are getting your new roof put on now while its hot. I hope you, and Teddi, will be comfortable in your basement.

Hello friends,

Today is my sister’s birthday, she died at 9 when I was a baby, but my family always celebrated her day. She would be 52, if I calculate correctly.

Dh left later than usual, but said he slept well—am glad he did because his tossing & turning kept waking me; I did sleep better after I turned on the fan and removed one blanket.

Today will be more of the same: work in garden, then on my list. Dd8 has activity days at 4:30.

Dh wants to put camp trailer on the mtn this weekend😐 so I need to get it cleaned today.

I hope to get yarn wound into balls for my next 1-2 three-strand hats. I cleaned one area of my room yesterday, and took all my crocheted saltines & knitted hats downstairs in a box, will mark it Charity Crafting.

I still haven't made dinner menus yet, we are just rotating chicken, beef, chicken, beef, fish—all with vegetables—so why bother I guess. Today will be chicken I think.

Yesterday I weeded squash patch, squished several squash-bugs eggs, and picked two zucchinis for my friend to trade for eggs; I also gave her empty cartons.
LOL! I got the best deal, she gave me 13 DOZEN EGGS!! I kept 3 dozen and gave the Rest away—I even posted them on the Facebook yard-sale pages. (I know better than to do that tho as the crazies come out of the woodwork at the mention of FREE FOOD; one lady started leaving nasty messages when I didn't reply fast enough to her 4 msgs—those kind of ppl rub me the wrong way.)

Today I’m thankful for my washing machine, may it keep going 5-10 more years.

Good Morning friends,

I had trouble getting out of bed this morning. The rain was falling. But I finally got up and logged into my work computer. I got my coffee and emptied the dishwasher and set it off again with a cup of vinegar in it. It has been so smelly. Now I am piddling until my 8:30 Conference call.

Yesterday I decided to set a timer and told myself I was going to concentrate on reading a tech manual for 50 minutes. It worked. I finally got the chapter done. Only 4 more to go.

I have plans to meet my Aunt for dinner tonight. Looking forward to it.

Have a great day,
Maggie

Good morning fellow frugalites,

Kinda/sorta overcast today, but I am pretty sure that no rain will be falling. Hubby did get the front and back yards mowed so things do not look quite so ragged when I look out my windows.

Hubby decided I needed a wireless mouse for the laptop and went out and got me one (used his allowance to buy it for me). I went with him for the drive and he ended up replacing some of his clothing as well. Things he definitely needed as some items were becoming pretty threadbare from wear. I might just buy him another pair of cargo shorts so he has some decent ones for his birthday this month (along with some new white t-shirts he can wear to bed with the pj bottoms). He really is hard to buy anything for.

Today I plan on taking my morning walk, picking some onions from the garden, picking rhubarb as well (keeps right on growing and has not gone to seed as of yet I do hope it isn't too woody though) and cleaning up the silicone liners I use in my dehydrator.

Still making the 4" knitted squares, but I think I just may start sewing said squares into whatever I make tonight. I could use them for a blanket or a very strange looking shawl. Heck, I might even have enough (or at least the start of enough) to make a poncho of many colours. I will see where my limited creativity takes me.

My to do list is not that long, and should be done quickly this morning. I hope to get a bit of sewing done today. I have been putting it off for awhile, but as the month is getting away from me there are items that need to be done. I will make a deal with myself and hopefully once two or more items are finished I can cut out another one or two patterns.

Have not heard from the specialist as of yet and now I am starting to fret. I think I will give his office a call at the end of the month if I haven't heard anything by then. This waiting has caused us to miss out on our holiday this year and if it does not happen soon, I have a feeling I will have to go through all the tests once again. That would be horrible.

Supper tonight is going to be the chili we were to have last night. Hubby wanted to BBQ so meals got switched around a little bit.

Today I am grateful that Hubby loves me even when I am grumpy and snap at him.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Good morning all,
Up at a decent time and I slept okay. I want to get some eggs boiled and get some tuna salad made up. Might make some egg salad also. I want stuff made up In the fridge for the heatwave-weekend. I plan on spending my time inside at home or at dads. It is starting to smell musty at dads. The AC is running and filters all changed, I will be sprinkling baking soda on the floor and vacuuming it up. Vinegar and soda down all of the drains.

Signing off for now, pop up ads and banners are really bad this AM

I slept better last night and I am more rested this morning. I slept about an hour and a half later.

My friend who lives across the hall and I are planning on going to Walmart I plan on returning the defective scale.
