Great post, Jackielou.

Old shoes is my most annoying clutter item. These are too far gone to donate. Some people have successfully turned them into bird nest "boxes", but I don't think that would work for me. I just hate to add to the landfills.
Fill them up with sand or ready mix cement type stuff and use them as door stops?

The only area I haven't already long ago gotten rid of is the computer junk.

emails I can delete, but I know I have programs from when I had a iMac running a powerPC chip. Since I don't know what to delete. I haven't gotten rid of any of it.

I am going to have to ask my son to do it when he has time. I don't know when that will be.

Old magazines.

Cleaning out mom’s house one of the things I haven’t been able to declutter is a collection of Colonial Homes magazines, many from the 1980s. Mom so loved them.

Re: using sand to make doorstops out of old shoes ----

A friend of mine did that and her cat decided he liked those sand-filled shoes better than his litter. The smell was terrible until she finally figured it out!!!

Sounds really unattractive to me.

Interesting idea Clem. I love thinking out of the box ideas.
