security for laptops

Post by SandiSAHM » Thu Aug 29, 2019 11:34 pm

Who do you use for security / anti-viral / anti-malware on your computers?

We're all on Windows 10 and need things real secure. Even thinking of putting K9 on for the kids, if K9 is still around.

I have Avast, and while I can't say I've been virused or anything like that, I have the basic package and still don't feel like there's much of a shield around this thing.

Is there security software you like?

I use McAfee, a free web protection plan offered by my web provider. I have never had a virus.

I am actually using the Microsoft built-in service. I also have the free version of Malware bytes running.

You susceptibility to malware (virus, trojans, ad ware) is more of a function of the websites you visit and the emails you open.

Protection for your PC is almost a religion. Some people complain that this program or that might slow down their machine. But stick with the well know ones and you will be best protected. Here is a recent article about the current lineup of products is outlined here.
