Good morning all

Trying to get motivated. I slept well, but just don't feel great.

A group of people want me to go to a seminar this week. I really don't want to go. They are leaving at 6! I am not an early riser. Its a community thing and for some reason they think that i need to be involved. I guess they might not realize that i really just want my extent of involvement to a meeting or so a month and mostly background stuff.

i will go if they call with info today, but also hope not. I planned to prepare for my yard sale.

and i am not going to make up a story as an excuse.

Good late morning all,

I have been up and busy but add me to the list of unmotivated folks. I slept okay but strange dreams and could not shut my mind off. What bugs me is these are things that need done but either the timing is off or something else needs done first.

I have laundry done and on the lines, supposed to be a great drying day. Temps will be going up and windows will get shut. Hopefully the AC won't run a lot, but I can't take the heat/humidity.

I cleaned the hickory nuts and peels off the patio this morning, swept up and hauled 5 scoop shovels full to the woods. Have paid bills this AM and am waiting on a call from the septic cleaning company, was going to have it done next month but decided to just get it lined up and done. Something off the maintenance to-do list.

I am researching the possibility of getting my roof cleaned, I have never had it done and am researching the pro's and con's...some people say to never have it done....

I am thawing ground pork burger for supper, I have a delectica squash to cook along with it. I will also chop some salad.

Off to dust floors and hopefully make some progress on the to-do list.

Good afternoon all,

Since I was able to see the sneak preview of Winn Dixie ad, I realized I should go ahead and get a couple more nice roasts, vegetables and misc. Unfortunately, the meat truck had not yet arrived, so I got a raincheck. Last night's pot roast cooked with presoaked pinto beans came out very well. Tonight we will do Mexican ground beef with the remaining beans.

The weather has been hot, but dry and I have worked hours in the yard. Lost a lot of water weight, no doubt. Knee is holding up well.

The kitchen designer says a cabinet sale will start the end of the week and I will plan to pay for the project shortly after. The kitchen will see extensive electrical upgrades and that was probably needed.

Our electricity cost is running about $50/month this summer so far. The savings from last summer is substantial. Good windows and insulation is a frugal decision.

Today, I saw my handyman in the grocery store. He doesn't work in the summer heat. I was able to tell him how wonderful his work is and he liked the compliment. Not quite a random act of kindness, but an act of kindness. And kindness to another person is always a good thing.

Today, I am grateful for this lovely day.

I"m trying to get motivated. Dressed, hair brushed, makeup applied.

It just irks me that my planned week of cleaning out my closet is shot. And i don't have to go to this thing on Thursday and unfortunately i now have somewhere i have to be.

A close elderly neighbor - related by marriage - passed away this morning. His surviving sibling is not doing well. I don't know how this will affect her - mom to my first and only cousins on maternal side.

I'm getting ready to go see the family if possible.

I will gladly make time and help out the family. The last time i saw him was at church. He said my name and gave me a hug. We also used to babysit his kids. I still see them as little kids.

But that other "obligation" caught me off guard. And brought me down cuz i don't know how to say no - :(
