So happy for Maggie and Gayle, and hope Janet is feeling better.

I am having a drawer cleaning extravaganza today, which has included lining drawers with Contact paper, bagging up stuff for the Salvation Army and hand-washing pantyhose. Right now the drying rack looks like a boneless Rockette kick line. :-D

If I get wildly inspired, I might go after the china cabinet drawers. Our kitchen is sorely lacking in drawers and seldom used things wind up in odd

Hope everyone has a lovely frugal day.

ha ha the boneless Rockettes ;)

Christmas shopping without cash today !

Finally got to BOOTS and got £50 worth of gifts for £40 worth of points ! BOOYAH !

FREE presents are a wonderful thing.

Very pleased.

I deserved a fun shopping experience ( total out of pocket expense 5p for the bag to put them in ) having had CRAFT CLUB  Everyone produced a Scandi woven heart but it was indeed, HELL ON WHEELS . On the bright side as I had to help make EVERY SINGLE ONE .....I can now make them in my sleep. Drove home thinking of making themt ohang on the Christmas tree, making them for the kids at school with a few sweets stuffed in them..............as they do look lovely.

Text from Ds place asking me t o phone, found out he had attacked a carer ( no reason given ) He tackled them to the ground. Don't feel we have got to the bottom of it other than it was two carers whose names I don't recognise who were looking after him. A known carer was drafted out and he reported back that DS pupils were very dilated. I get him tomorrow. Had they let DH and I know we would have got him ourselves today................we have decided to keep the plans as they were, a known skilled carer will bring him here tomorrow straight after his regular daycare. His daycare are very skilled and today went well there. We ill give him as peaceful a weekend here as we can. No DGKs, no eating out , no shopping , just quietly zoning out.

Reading this I don't sound sympathetic to the carer, let me find out more first.

Gayle, very glad you thre your toys out of the pram as it does sound like you are getting actual, sensible HELP now .

Hugs to all you poorly fold with your nasty MRIs etc. Have a nice lead up to the weekend, ALL. Its 8pm and I intend to be in bed by 9pm.

It snowed this morning ! it didn't settle but how lovely !

Rinty, I am so sorry to hear about Tom. It really sounds like his medications were not administered correctly for that to have happened. (((Hugs)))

I did indeed tackle the china cabinet, and now can appreciate my late MIL's beautiful china and some sentimental glassware and ceramics. Also washed and rearranged the 2 and one-quarter drawers in the kitchen. Got rid of a few utensils that we don't use and threw out some clutter.

The kitchen cabinet doors are loaded up with fussy trim that catches dust, flour and every splatter, and I hate them but have to put up with them. They are very hard to clean, but today I used a trick from a reader of The Non-Consumer Advocate's blog: mixed a dollop of Murphy's Oil Soap with water in a spray bottle and used an old microfiber cloth sprayed with the solution to get down in the trim. It looks a lot better and I no longer want to take a crowbar to it.

Tomorrow I might actually iron! My winter scarf is heavy silk and wrinkles when washed, so it needs a good pressing, and someone gave me some cute tea towels that wrinkled like mad when washed. I may press them and give them away, but they will be ironed first.

Snowangel. Good to see you posting again and that you are leaving your your toxic job. How is your DH? Is he still off work?
Yeah, still outta work so with me switching jobs, I gotta budget a little better. I wish he could go back, it would make my life a little easier, but he has a follow up with his specialist coming up so I have my fingers crossed.

So enjoyed browsing through all of your check-ins. Sending good thoughts to everyone not feeling well.

Dealing with the bitter cold as best I can. Today it hit the 30's and will tomorrow as well, so they say.

Good day at work - accomplished a lot. Went right home after and let the dogs out to do their thing then hit the library. Treating myself to a piping hot cup of flavored decaf while I "do my computer stuff". So thankful for the library - if I'm going to splurge on a "take out coffee" I'm going to do it here.

This morning's breakfast was hot oatmeal with blueberries. Lunch was brought to work from home - two small baked potatoes with salsa topping and some leftover roasted carrots. I'll figure out supper when I get home later - most likely eggs and toast because it will be late-ish.

My brother and sister-in-law sold me a very nice 30" flat screen television set for just $20. It isn't a "Smart TV" but I don't need that -- I just need it to connect to my DVD player, which it does. I picked that up from them last evening and stayed for supper , of pancakes, eggs, home fries and sausage, of course I didn't have any sausage. It was nice to visit with them. We live close but all so busy all the time - work, work, work.

My daughter just emailed me about how she uses bubble wrap on her windows in winter - says it makes a HUGE difference in keeping heat in and cold out and she said she has used the same $20 roll of bubble wrap for 5 years now. She said it's great because it lets the light in while helping reduce heat cost. I will probably be giving that a try and see what difference I notice.

Off to do some surveys and stuff. Everyone stay warm.

Good luck. I will say a prayer for you three. ((hug)).
