Mrscreative wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 8:15 am Good morning beautiful people!

Brilliant sunshine out there once again but cool! I’ll take that over cloud and rain any day!

I hope to get around to baking those muffins. I plan to take a dozen to the hospital, along with a thank you card for the surgeon and all the wonderful staff at surgical day care, the mammogram room and the ladies who did the C-Scan and injected the radiation due. On second thought, I should probably bake two dozen as a lot of people were involved. I really thought my care was outstanding!

Today I have a phone appointment from the radiation oncologist (due to Covid-19, not in person). So hopefully I will know when my radiation appointments will start. In the meantime, I’ve been doing another cooking frenzy and freezing meals and stocking up to the gills with pick up service. I have another order from Superstore to collect on Sunday and will book a slot with Walmart for the following week. It’s hard to get a slot with Superstore, but they carry a lot more ethnic foods than Walmart. Dh keeps looking at the flyers and sees good deals at Metro and I feel like I’m constantly having to convince him to stay out. Not the time to be penny wise and pound foolish! He’s the most vulnerable age group being male 70 plus, despite being incredibly active and healthy otherwise. I want it to remain that way!

I still hope to get in a very long walk today and intend to take a little different route to the almost deserted university campus. My N95 disposable filters finally has arrived from China a few days ago and I tested one out in my cloth mask yesterday. It worked well and it seemed like my glasses didn’t fog up as much. That gets very annoying.

On the entertainment front: still have lots of free Apple Books, movies and physical books to read. Will watch the news for an hour to keep informed and see what else is interesting. And I have my Instagram videos to check as well. I haven’t been bored at all!

Have a wonderful day!

I should take a couple of leaves from your book, and make a bunch of “freezer meals” that can be easily made by whichever teen is around to help, after my surgery in July. I’m not really going to plan on help from RS PRES & church ladies again after her actions from November to January.

Maggie, I just breathed a prayer for your mom. Having had a couple back surgeries, I can empathize with her. I hope she has great nurses and CNAs - they will make all the difference, especially since your DF can't be with her.

Good afternoon, all. It is lovely and cool here today, but pretty windy. I can hear my front door wreath knocking against the door. It had gotten entirely too warm for my taste, so I'm glad to see more temperate weather. I hope it sticks around awhile.

I go tomorrow for another back injection/block. I've been wearing my back brace around the house, which is not advisable, but oh well. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Thanks Mackie and JCKitty, for the advice about my glasses. I was on the Zenni website looking at glasses when my DH said, let me see your glasses. He did some kind of witchcraft on them and glued them back together. :D I could never have done that in a million years. If you look very closely you can tell that they've been repaired, but I'm wearing them. The lens has a scratch, but it's off to the side and not really very bothersome at all. YAY!

Good Afternoon

It is still chilly here in Iowa, but at least the sun is shining.

Trying to warm the house a bit by using the oven.
The beans that I had simmering all day yesterday are now being turned into baked beans.
I am also working on baking off a batch of Peanut Butter chocolate chip cookies.
The last time hubby and I were down at the Amish discount store, we picked up a 4 pound jar of creamy peanut butter for $3.70. I am thinking I might try making some peanut butter frosting the next time I bake a wacky cake.

I again have no plans to leave the house, other than to perhaps take my old dog for a ride, and checking on my garden. Since that would require me to put on shoes, I'm not sure it is going to happen today :-)

Change of dinner plans tonight. We were supposed to have Salmon with a new recipe, but are going to have homemade pizza instead. I have some mushrooms, and some cheese that I want to get used up, as they have been in the fridge a long time. The salmon is in the freezer, so it can wait.

Got a call in to my pharmacy for a refill on my insulin and needles. Also have a message sent to my diabetic nurse about the other diabetic med I am on. Will wait until I hear about that before going to the pharmacy so that I only have to make one trip.

Well cookies are done so guess it is time for me to find a project to work on. Shredding is calling my name !

Have a wonderful Wednesday !!

Patty, I am so glad your husband was able to fix your glasses. That is just great!

It's cold here today and kind of gloomy, but we saw the neatest thing in our neighborhood this morning: the daughter of our next door neighbors is graduating from high school, and of course there is no ceremony or parties, so the teachers did a motorcade through the neighborhood for her with decorated cars, two firetrucks and a police escort. It was wonderful!

I took Little Single Mom Friend to pay her utility bills, which took forever as we could only use the outside drive up tubes, and then she needed to stop at Walmart to finish grocery shopping. I stayed in the car with her little boys, who fell asleep.

My resolve to not cut my own hair is weakening. A bad home haircut would be better than the floppy mop I have right now. I can't stand it long in hot weather -- heat aggravates my psoriasis -- and may lop it all off in a bad pixie very soon. :-D

Beautiful day here in south texas

Temps are low 80s. Nice breeze. the sun is shining. My dogs love being outside while i water the grass. I hope to make it come back to its glory. I had and have been slacking on that.

I did take a short nap but then i decided i better get up. I feel so guilty!

Update

Got to DS's apartment. Groceries all unpacked. I have decided what we will be having for supper. Hubby is out on the balcony with Eiko.

Need to do a bit of cleaning tonight and then finish it off tomorrow while the men are at DS's appointments.
