Good morning fellow frugalites,

Yep we have snow. Heavy, wet snow that is causing the branches of trees to bend with the weight. There is supposed to be even more falling today and tomorrow. The moisture is needed, but I am pretty sure the vast majority would rather have had it fall in the form of a nice rain all day yesterday and for most of the evening. So now the old homestead looks like a Christmas card instead of a spring that is turning green. Welcome to life on the Canadian prairies.

I am still running a fever and have the chills as well as a headache this morning. I will be phoning my dentist office to tell them my appointment needs to be rebooked for a later date. Hopefully not too long into the future.

Happy about one thing though. Two more of those stubborn absorbable stitches have fallen out. Wonder if any more will do so over the next few days. So looking forward to not having them catch on my clothing.

Today will be spent inside getting things done. I do the household tasks first and then do some baking. I doubt very much I will be setting foot outside the door unless it is this afternoon and I go and get the mail. Perhaps I will get my sewing/crafting/knitting mojo back and continue on with getting a few things completed.

Menus are made for this week and will be followed once again. No company and no need to make something different other than what I have chosen. I do have to bring a container of the stuffed peppers upstairs though. Most of the other items are already in the fridge freezer. I will need to bring up the hotdogs as well.

Laundry day as well here on the old homestead. Hubby has at least one less week of this chore, but I am thinking that pushing the heavy vacuum around will have to wait until after my specialist visit at the end of the month.

I will need to dust, clean the sinks and counters in the kitchen, clean what I can in the bathroom, and clean the bedrooms. All with periods of resting between chores.

Supper tonight is going to be sausages, just not too sure what type of sausages at this moment. Thinking a small sausage casserole would use up some of the carrots in the fridge and leave me leftovers for a clean out the fridge night. I must decide fairly soon.

Today I am grateful that my dentist is accommodating in regards to rescheduling. I will be able to pick a date or go on a waiting list to be put whenever my name comes up and I can get in on a cancellation.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

My oldest is 55.. Bragged about her and son in law getting senior discounts. Most times I don’t even feel that old. But I guess 80 is supposed to be old .lol

Good morning all,

Once I got to sleep I think I slept pretty well :? I don't feel like I got much accomplished yesterday but oh well.
I woke up to everything being wet and drippy so more rain overnight. I can see lots of wildflowers blooming across the front acre...I try not to mow until they die down...the bees need them. Other than wild onions I really don't have many spots that need mowed anyway.
The fiance asked me last night if I had the mowers running yet...my neighbor across the road has mowed twice already but he also feeds his lawn and I don't.

No clue what I will be doing today, it is very dreary looking so not alot I can do outside.
I do need to rearrange the fridge and wipe shelves....

Good morning, frugal friends. I am having my coffee break late, having spent some time helping the building custodian find a place for her husband to get a Covid shot as fast as possible. His employer told him he could not come back to work without being vaccinated. After a lot of hunting, we found him a spot for tomorrow morning.

I am taking advantage of a work perk this morning and used the commercial washer and dryer in the student laundry room to launder our very heavy winter blanket. It is too bulky for our little HE washer to spin out. I do not abuse this perk and last used it back in the winter when I spilled coffee all over my coat and handbag and had to wash them at work.

DH and I spent some time working in the yard yesterday afternoon. I am slightly stove up from it, due to pulling vines from the rock garden, getting one tangled around my leg and falling down. Fortunately I fell on the lawn, not the rocks. This prompted me to have DS to haul out the string trimmer and clean up the rocks the noisy, messy way.

I also gave DH a haircut with the clippers that evening, since I was in the mood to cut things down. :-D And I cooked a delicious batch of angel hair spaghetti with a lovely marinara augmented with sweet Italian sausage, mushrooms and black olives. Yum.

Did not get my sewing down this weekend.

Jackie, I'm sorry you still feel shot-sick and are having a winter wonderland this late. But yay! for losing your stitches at last!

Today's oak pollen count is much much lower today: 4,350 yesterday it was 40,500.

I have been busy this morning, I have started a dress wash, emptied the dish drainer and dishwasher. after I finish my coffee I will transfer the dresses to the dryer. I do have to fold the sheets. I also have a towel wash to do.

I filled the dishwasher since there was very little room left I set off. I had some very big things in there.

I ordered a special foot for my sewing machine. I don’t piece quilts but I do sew lots of toys that use 1/4 inch seams it was difficult to see the 1/4 inch mark with the feet it came with. I haven’t used it yet.
