homemade laundry stain pre-treat formula?

Post by dlrcpa » Sun Jan 17, 2016 2:39 pm

I just ran out of laundry stain pre-treat spray. Does anyone have a recipe? I see several that incorporate Dawn dish liquid. However some of the other things I am worried about using - like ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. I would rather DH not suspect I have put a homemade formula into the Spray & Wash bottle. ;) Thank you.

I use Fels Naptha laundry bars for laundry pre-treating. I also use the stain remover from Norwax. I love that stuff almost as much as Fels Naptha. It can also be diluted to be used as a spray, though I use it directly on the fabric in its original gel form, I only use a little and hubby's collars & cuffs on white shirts look good again.

I use a little laundry detergent and a toothbrush. just gently scrub the area. I have found this to work. just do a spot that will not be noticiable if the fabric fades. I dont' use oxi or any of that. mostly just purex or extra--or cvs basic when it is on sale. when I splurge I use gain! cj
