Cut your spending by $400

Post by gaylejackson2 »

Hi Everyone,

I found this article (blog post more like) this morning through Pinterest. I'm sharing for you all to look at too. I don't know that I will learn anything new but I figure it's worth a read.

Gayle,
Thank you for the article. It was an interesting read, but there wasn't anything really new for me on there that I don't already do.

I thought I might try getting off a few catalog mailing lists and when I went to the list posted in the article there is a $2.00 charge for doing so. No thanks, I will just continue to shred. There use to be a free service to get off these mailing list that was listed in the front of our telephone books. I don't get a telephone book anymore so can't remember what the address was. It's not uncontrollable anyway. It use to upset me for a couple years after DH died that something would come with his name on it, but now it doesn't so I don't need to stop those, don't get many anymore anyway.

Other than traveling my monthly expenses are extremely low anyway. I thought the other day this is the first time in my life that I don't have to struggle to put a few extra dollars from my monthly income into savings. Frugal feels good.

Thanks for sharing it. I especially liked the list of restaurant freebies for when it is your birthday :D
